  • The Perfect Home Base for Visiting NYC!

"My husband, two daughters, and myself, just returned from a stay at the Garden Street Apt. It was very clean, had plenty of space for the four of us, and was quite homey. We really loved staying there. Although we don't usually use A/C that and the fans worked wonders on the hot nights (esp after walking all day!). We garaged our car upon arrival and never took it out until we left (walking distance from apt). Everything we needed was within walking distance and we always felt safe, day or night. It was the most perfect location imaginable. One thing you MUST do is get yourself down to the Frank Sinatra Drive. MOST amazing views of the city! Take 9th down to Hudson and stroll along the water front. So Beautiful! Getting to NYC was a breeze. I was a little concerned about using the bus (I've been on some pretty sketchy ones elsewhere) but it was immaculately clean, and quite comfortable, and at $3.20/person ($1.45 for youngest-who then rode FREE from Sat-Sun) it couldn't be beat cost wise. The stop can be seen from the front door and the bus comes every 3-5 minutes! You end up at the Port Authority (42nd & 8th) and can go anywhere from there. Mass transit was easy to figure out, and I'm from Maine, don't use cabs, don't have subways, and have only ridden the bus into town once! Lisa's Deli was a gem, Oh My Gosh! We loved everything we got there! One reason for our visit was that my going-on-14 year old wanted to see Carlo's Bakery. I read a lot of not great stuff about lines, rude servers, and eh food so we were just going to photo op it. She & I walked down at 7am Sun. We thought it was closed until I saw people inside. Only 4 people in front of us, servers were very nice, and the coffee danish my daughter got was Yummy (she says). It's def a bakery-gone-tourist trap but what the heck-check it out! I hope I haven't forgotten anything. If we ever went back, we'd stay here. Thank You so much for giving us a home away from home!"

  • Great vacation home!

"My stay at the jersey home was great! The owner was very gracious and accommodating. Everything is there for you that you need. Enough space for a whole family and then some. Drive into the Manhattan Area could be about 40 min at times but it's still very close. Close to Path station to get on subway to the manhattan area is about 15 min. Lots of places to eat at. Overall it was a great home and would stay here again!"

  • Nice place - would recommend to friends!

"Stayed at the Garden St. apartment for three nights/four days earlier this month, when we were in town for our grand-niece's Baptism. We chose this apartment because it's in walking distance to our niece & nephew's home, which was important for us -- but what would be good for anyone considering this apartment is its proximity to public transit (the PATH station is a few blocks away, from which you can catch a train taking you right into NYC in mere minutes) and a lot of nice restaurants and shops along Washington St. The apartment itself is on a quiet residential street with nice shady trees. Five minutes away, there's a park along the waterfront with nice views of the NYC skyline. There were five of us sharing this apartment -- my husband and I slept in one of the two bedrooms on a queen-sized bed, my sister slept on the very comfortable pull-out couch, and her two daughters slept on the bunk beds in the second bedroom. The rooms were clean and tidy, with freshly-washed linens. Sufficient closet and cupboard space in which to hang our clothes. We did not use the kitchen, really, but it came well-stocked with all the necessary plates, silverware, etc. Free wifi is offered. The AC units and ceiling fans were helpful in the 90°F heat of the summer. The one drawback was that there were five of us adults sharing one bathroom, but since we were only staying for three nights, it wasn't a major problem. This is a fourth floor walk-up apartment with no elevator -- do keep that in mind when packing, because you'll be carrying your luggage up a few flights of steep, narrow stairs. Communication with Severine & Peerasit was easy and prompt. Severine was great at replying to our emails -- she even called and emailed us the day we arrived to ensure everything was to our liking. She was accommodating of our request for an earlier check-in. A binder was left on the dining room table with the apartment rules, but also menus for nearby take-out places, info on cab fares, etc. All in all, we had a pleasant stay in Hoboken and would recommend this apartment to our friends."
