  • What a great place!

"We had a wonderful, relaxing stay last year and I forgot to write a review until now. This place had everything you could want - great location with the shore and bay both within a 5 minute walk; convenient grocery and pharmacy (a block away); close to boardwalk and restaurants; quiet condo; great owner to work with; fully equipped kitchen; well furnished and comfortable bed. Truly a fantastic week. In fact it was so great, we have booked this year as well."

  • Another great week !!

"I arrived late Saturday evening and stopped to get groceries so I could settle in for the night. I was so very grateful to see the elevator because I had lots to bring up to the third floor. The place was immaculate. Rob was thoughtful and e mailed me make sure I was happy and he also answered any questions I had for him. There were a few things that needed attention but nothing so urgent that it couldn't wait. It's only one short half block to the beach and sitting outside on the porch in the mornings and at sunset was so relaxing and the view is still nice because it's possible to see the ocean even though there are homes on the beach but we were on the third level and we could see over the homes. Rob is meticulous and that is why I love renting from him. The furniture is lovely as is the entire design of the home. I'm reluctant to say that families with young children would be a good fit only because, as the mother of 5, all grown , I know things tend to break and not intentionally. I did however have my grandchildren (1year and 3 yrs)and my daughter with me for 3 days last summer and it was fine. I'm already booked for next summer. So, I love staying there and I will say it again.... The elevator is awesome!!!"

  • Loveladies Rental

"We've rented on LBI for years, needing both beachfront and several bedrooms and came across this rental when our usual place was unavailable. Landlord was very easy to work with. As for pro's and con's - we loved the place. Fantastic view, and the upstairs is great - really one of the nicest upstairs living spaces I've seen in a beachfront rental at the shore. We've stayed in a number of places at LBI over the years, and have had an opportunity as such to see a number of 'comps.' Also very nice that so many beach tags were included. Wooden floors were nice (but vacuums didn't work very well). Bathrooms were nice. Huge outdoor deck space with tables was fantastic, allowed for large family dinners outside at sunset. Public tennis courts 100 yards from the house, usually easy to get court time. Master bedroom was amazing, but beds throughout the house were not very comfortable and pillows were minuscule - owner intends to change them out, I believe. Kitchen could use a few more items, west-facing windows need blinds but, again, owner tells us he plans to take care of these. Could use a few more beach chairs. All in all, a very nice place, easy landlord, beautiful and expansive view of the beach. Would go again."

  • Family Reunion

"Our family, coming from many parts of the country, returned for a second year for our beach vacation. This historic house is beautiful, well maintained and airy. Its spaciousness meant we could be together, but never feel crowded. The many porches and little nooks invited small group activity and allowed for private time. The location is a real plus. Because the house is so convenient to beaches, restaurants, shops, tennis, town, we could leave cars in the driveway to walk or bike almost anywhere: to the beach to swim, boogie board, walk, watch oyster catcher families, search for Cape May diamonds; to various shopping locales; to play tennis; go the the mall for free fudge and as much ice cream as it is possible to eat in a week; and to enjoy old time fun, arcades, miniature golf, hot dogs. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather and warm ocean temperatures so never got to many of the rainy day activities within the house. Hope we can return."

Gateway Region Travel Tips

Reasons to Choose Gateway Vacation Rentals

The Gateway region of New Jersey covers the friendly towns and communities of Edgewater, Hoboken, Jersey City, Maplewood and Millburn among others. Most visitors choose to stay in the Gateway area in order to visit New York City, just across the Upper Bay. Choosing a vacation home within 15 minutes of the Big Apple means visitors can enjoy all the sights without the big price tag of staying in Manhattan itself. The towns in the Gateway region have numerous art galleries, shopping malls, great restaurants and museums. They also have excellent transportation links including the PATH train to New York City and ferries to Ellis Island and Liberty Island.

Hotels in New York City can be very pricey, particularly for a family but vacation rentals in the nearby Gateway region are very affordable. Renting a vacation home or apartment gives you a quiet place to return to at the end of each day and relax in comfortable surroundings. Being just 15 minutes from the city allows you easy access to all the city sights from the Gateway region. Enjoy the freedom and space of your own place, with as many bedrooms as you choose. With several TVs and other amenities, the whole family can do as they please. Dining at home can also save money compared to eating out three times a day in NYC. With a well-equipped kitchen and full-size appliances, catering for the family is easy and convenient. Choose a rental home that is within walking distance of the train and avoid the expense and hassle of having a rental car too.
