"We stayed here over the week of 4th of July. We had a blast. Michael and Amy were awesome to deal with and bent over backwards to make our stay perfect. Beautiful house and perfect location. Couldn't have found a better place for our family vacation."

  • Perfect Vacation Condo!

"Can't rave enough about this condo! It's like home away from home. Location is perfect - close to the beach in a quiet area but within walking distance to all the boardwalk activity. It's equipped with everything you need, very clean and tastefully decorated. Best of all the garage is stocked with beach items and even bikes for riding the boards! Dealing with the owner is a breeze. All rental transactions went very smoothly and quickly. Charlie is available for any problem that might arise. (But there weren't any!) Definitely will rent this condo again next year. Can't wait!!"

  • Incredible house with plenty of room & amenities!!

"Stayed in the house for a great summer weekend at Atlantic City! The house is in incredible condition. Very clean with plenty of space both inside and outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Had absolutely no trouble during our entire stay and everyone really enjoyed the views of the ocean from our balcony. We were able to walk to the beach (which is literally right across the street), as well as to the local stores, restaurants, and casinos (all within walking distance!). The house made our stay one of the best vacations ever and I strongly recommend staying here! The owner was very pleasant and easy to deal with, as I will most definitely be renting from this property again! Great trip!"

Gateway Region Travel Tips

Reasons to Choose Gateway Vacation Rentals

The Gateway region of New Jersey covers the friendly towns and communities of Edgewater, Hoboken, Jersey City, Maplewood and Millburn among others. Most visitors choose to stay in the Gateway area in order to visit New York City, just across the Upper Bay. Choosing a vacation home within 15 minutes of the Big Apple means visitors can enjoy all the sights without the big price tag of staying in Manhattan itself. The towns in the Gateway region have numerous art galleries, shopping malls, great restaurants and museums. They also have excellent transportation links including the PATH train to New York City and ferries to Ellis Island and Liberty Island.

Hotels in New York City can be very pricey, particularly for a family but vacation rentals in the nearby Gateway region are very affordable. Renting a vacation home or apartment gives you a quiet place to return to at the end of each day and relax in comfortable surroundings. Being just 15 minutes from the city allows you easy access to all the city sights from the Gateway region. Enjoy the freedom and space of your own place, with as many bedrooms as you choose. With several TVs and other amenities, the whole family can do as they please. Dining at home can also save money compared to eating out three times a day in NYC. With a well-equipped kitchen and full-size appliances, catering for the family is easy and convenient. Choose a rental home that is within walking distance of the train and avoid the expense and hassle of having a rental car too.

Getting to Gateway Vacation Homes in New Jersey

Flights to the three main airports around New York City are frequent from all over the U.S. and the world. The most convenient airport is Newark Liberty Airport as it is on the west side of Manhattan, just five miles from Jersey City, NJ. Public transport from here is excellent and you can avoid the need for a car.

Other alternatives are La Guardia Airport in New York City, which is 11 miles from New Jersey, and the John F. Kennedy Airport which is 17 miles away.

Places to Visit From Your Gateway Vacation Home

The designer shops and boutiques on Fifth Avenue are legendary and make a great place to window-shop even if you are not going to buy. The Upper East Side is known as “Museum Mile” as it has several world-class art galleries and museums. Central Park is a must-do, whether you want a romantic stroll, a morning jog or a horse-drawn carriage ride. In the winter, the ponds are frozen for skating beneath the stars. Chinatown is an excellent area if you want a cheap and tasty meal, or go upmarket and dine in Little Italy. Greenwich is another delightful historic community to explore.

Things to do From Your Gateway Lodging

New York City is well named as the “City that never sleeps.” There is plenty to see and do on your vacation, including visiting museums, shopping, dining out and seeing the sights. A trip on the Circle Line Cruises will help get you oriented. The Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal and the bright lights of Times Square are world-famous, as is he Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island. Visitors can book tickets to a Broadway Show from a discount ticket booth for a memorable evening out.
