  • Great place to stay, clean, safe, easily accessible to all transport

"Stayed here for a week with my family of 5 in September. It was the best decision we made! Very easy access to the bus on Washington Street, which comes every few minutes. the bus takes you to Port Authority/times square and from there you are free to go anywhere. the PATH train is also great to catch a bit longer to walk to (maybe 15 min) but it takes to to 33rd st or WTC. We even caught the ferry across oneday. It was expensive so wouldn't recommend using that regularly. Lots of restaurants to choose from but our favourite was lisa's deli on the corner..YUMMY!! We came in at midnight many times during our stay and felt very safe walking back to the apartment at that time with kids and all..there were even people jogging or walking their dog at those times. Owner was very helpful as well with any questions we had and always contactable. It was our first experience renting an apartment through VRBO and very happy to say that it was a great first experience."

  • Great vacation home!

"My stay at the jersey home was great! The owner was very gracious and accommodating. Everything is there for you that you need. Enough space for a whole family and then some. Drive into the Manhattan Area could be about 40 min at times but it's still very close. Close to Path station to get on subway to the manhattan area is about 15 min. Lots of places to eat at. Overall it was a great home and would stay here again!"

Gateway Region Travel Tips

Reasons to Choose Gateway Vacation Rentals

The Gateway region of New Jersey covers the friendly towns and communities of Edgewater, Hoboken, Jersey City, Maplewood and Millburn among others. Most visitors choose to stay in the Gateway area in order to visit New York City, just across the Upper Bay. Choosing a vacation home within 15 minutes of the Big Apple means visitors can enjoy all the sights without the big price tag of staying in Manhattan itself. The towns in the Gateway region have numerous art galleries, shopping malls, great restaurants and museums. They also have excellent transportation links including the PATH train to New York City and ferries to Ellis Island and Liberty Island.

Hotels in New York City can be very pricey, particularly for a family but vacation rentals in the nearby Gateway region are very affordable. Renting a vacation home or apartment gives you a quiet place to return to at the end of each day and relax in comfortable surroundings. Being just 15 minutes from the city allows you easy access to all the city sights from the Gateway region. Enjoy the freedom and space of your own place, with as many bedrooms as you choose. With several TVs and other amenities, the whole family can do as they please. Dining at home can also save money compared to eating out three times a day in NYC. With a well-equipped kitchen and full-size appliances, catering for the family is easy and convenient. Choose a rental home that is within walking distance of the train and avoid the expense and hassle of having a rental car too.
