  • Our summer vacation for over 20 years

"We have stayed at the big yellow house as our 3 sons have grown up and now they can't wait to return to Brant Beach to reconnect with each other. Being just a few houses from the beautiful, wide life-guarded beach and the gradual beach access is perfect for young families and even our niece on crutches. And now the young people can use the free boulevard bus for their night-time forays, if they don't just walk a block to Daddy-O's for one of their specials. I think this is the first summer my sister has not brought their wind-surfers which they launch at the bay beach just a few blocks south. The third floor "dorm" is perfect for collecting the whole extended family together. The large deck is an extra room and the 2 front decks are little "private" spots so there's plenty of space for everyone. The large dining room and table in the living room provide room for all ages. The kitchen is stocked with everything and we tend to cook and eat all our meals "at home", although we do enjoy a special breakfast or 2 at Scojo's or Moustache Bill's, and pizza from Panzone's. This summer Evan made a wonderful boiled shore dinner with fresh seafood and corn! The large washer and dryer keep everyone in clean clothes. We love the large outdoor shower! A perfect family vacation spot!"

  • Very Nice Vacation Rental

"The home is large and was able to accomodate 14 people easily. It is very close to Bay Village and Fantasy Island and we were able to walk there within 5 minutes. The home had all the basic needs we had for cooking and cleaning. It is a pretty short walk to the beach and just down the street from stores for any shopping needs. The renter was very accomodating and friendly and although we did not have any major issues during our stay, he was available if needed. We had no need to bring toys for our children because the home has several toys and games already. Additionally, there were children's movies available which kept them occupied when we cooked in the large kitchen. The upper deck provided a beautiful view of the island. The home also has an elevator which made things very accessible."

  • great location, comfortable for a crowd

"Our family group of 13 (ages 1 to 75) had a great time in this comfortable, clean, and compact house. The location truly cannot be beat. We went for almost an entire week without using cars, and the 4 and 5 year olds in our group could easily walk to and from the beach (and to ice cream, coffee shops, and a small grocery/convenience store). Ocean Grove is a charming town and the beaches are clean and well guarded. While the house is "compact" the three levels plus two large porches meant that we never felt like we were on top of each other or cramped. The house contained almost everything we needed (except a high chair and portacrib that we brought for the smallest) and this made our stay quite easy and relaxing. It stayed cool on a humid/muggy day and night (with A/C and fans); the kitchen was very well appointed with the gear we needed to cook communal meals from scratch; two large tables - one in the kitchen, the second in the front room - provided ample room for us all to sit together to eat as well. The amenities (bathrooms, kitchen appliances, w/d) were all in good working order and on the "new" side. Most impressively, all of the advertised beach gear - beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, toys, tags - was there and in excellent condition. The good weather meant that we did not nee to delve deeply into the enormous DVD collection but we could have happily passed rainy/bad weather days in the basement media room. Two of the bedrooms are capacious, the other three are smaller (though not cramped). The basement bedroom with a twin bed provided a useful retreat for the teenager; the bedroom with four bunks and a double bed good for the smaller kids and parents. I think the only thing we thought was missing were some reading lights! But in an age of the Kindle, this was a truly minor thing. ON that note, the house does not (this year, 2014) have WiFi, which some in our party (the teenager in particular) initially found frustrating. But by the end of the week, the enforced "respite" from the screens and the many pleasures of being together that this nice house offered to us had turned into a very good thing! We had a great time."

  • Great Vacation House

"My family and I stayed at this house for a week in June of 2014. We had such an amazing time! The house is so close to the beach we were able to go back and forth easily, which was necessary with a toddler. The house itself is cozy and homey feeling. The only downsides to the house are that there is no dishwasher, no washer and dryer, and the shower is incredibly small. However, given the location those things are easily overlooked. We are so looking forward to booking this vacation house again!"
