  • Dream Vacation

"For an entire week I have tried to think of the words to describe our fabulous stay at this incredible beach home. Our family gathered from 5 states for a reunion and Mom's 80th birthday celebration. From the moment we arrived, this beautiful home (and the owners!) said "Welcome!" in so many ways. With as many as 13 family members in attendance, there was plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed. With all the necessities and then some, and so many extras such as bed linens, bath & beach towels provided, we felt as if this place was just waiting and ready for our arrival. The wonderfully equipped kitchen and gas grill, as well as ample seating inside & out, made our large mealtimes easy to prepare and festive to enjoy. Maureen provided a wealth of information which covered options for shopping, dining, beach access including mobility accessible areas, and other highlights available to us. The bikes were used every day for beach and shopping excursions. From the mornings several of us ventured to the beach to see the sunrise, (some going every morning!) to days enjoying the sun, waves, and ocean breezes, from morning dolphin sightings to the times we returned from days on the beautiful shore, from morning coffee on the porch to lying down for a peaceful night's rest, this home was all we could have expected and so much more. Thank you, Maureen & Joe, for helping us make memories we will treasure forever!"

  • Great for fishing & relaxing!

"Perfect place for surf fishing and relaxing. My wife loved exploring for beach glass and shells along the jetty inlet - all with a beautiful view of the lighthouse. The house was great - very clean and comfortable with beachy furnishings and a great large screen TV. The owner was very nice and quick to respond to my questions. We look forward to returning next year!"

  • Very nice, clean and well equipped.

"We came up to New Jersey to move our daughter out of the dorms at Seton Hall and decided to stay four extra days. We decided to try to find a beach house less than a week ahead of time. The owners were great to work with and we were able to get this done very quickly. One thing to be aware of, here, is that they do not supply towels or bed sheets. We honestly, did not have room in the car to bring these items since we filled it up with the contents of a dorm room, but no problem, you can rent towels and sheets from a place right down the street and they were waiting for us at the front door when we arrived. It was a little early in the season, so it was a still too cool to lay on the beach, but we could still walk on the beach. We rented bikes one day and rode down to Surf City and back. While this was a nice ride during the off season, due to the many bays that come into the island, the only way to get there was to stay on the main road down the center of the island. I would imagine that in season, this road gets real busy. Since our daughter, had just spent a semester at college, she really wanted some home cooked meals, so we ate most of our meals in the house, but there were many restaurants and stores within walking distance or a short drive. Don't expect to be right on the beach here. The dunes here are the longest I have ever seen. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just be aware. Also, part of the path through the dunes is a wooden plank walkway. They laid the planks length wise (with the grain) so if you walk barefoot you can pick up a pretty nasty splinter (experience talking here). Flip flops or shoes would be recommended on the walk to the beach. We really enjoyed walking down to the lighthouse and walking to the top. We drove down to Surf City one day and went to a bookstore (I think it was called Book Worm?) and all got some books to read. The front porch was an excellent place to sit back and enjoy the breeze and read. Overall, it was a nice relaxing and comfortable stay. If you are looking for a beach town with a lot of action and things to do, this may not be your cup of tea. But if you want a nice relaxing place, close to the beach this house if perfect. If we have some more free time dropping off or picking up over the next couple of years, we will definitely try to stay here again."

  • A Hidden Gem....

"My family and I have been renting this 2nd floor unit for approximately 3 years and it has been the perfect vacation spot for our family of 4. The apartment is very clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. All of the windows allow for so much natural light. One of my favorite spots is the deck off of the kitchen. It’s a peaceful spot to enjoy your morning coffee. The apartment is located on a quiet street and very close to the beach, bay, and local shops."
