  • This is a wonderful house!

"I spent a long weekend here in May with my whole family (adult kids), and will be back for a week in August. The house itself is modern, spacious and comfortable, with great decks, a new grill, wireless, etc- everything thing you need is there. The location was also terrific- close walking distance to shopping, bike rental, the lighthouse and restaurants. It's very quiet, - one house in from the bay. The owners are very helpful, nice people."

  • Ladies Book Group

"This was our second stay at Wafting Breezes for an annual ladies get together. House is located steps from the beach and shopping for any need is close by. House is updated and comfortably fits a large group or families. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking needs, and has a grill outside. The wrap around deck is great for entertaining and has sun most of the day. You can tell the house is well maintained by the owners and they picked up our call immediately when we had a question about the house. Great restaurants are close by as well as good walking, biking and running routes. We have already booked for 2015 and plan to add an additional week to bring our families. Highly recommend Wafting Breezes and wish could rent the house for the entire summer as such a great place to stay!"

  • Many Happy Memories

"My wife and I rented this beach house during the past two thoroughly-enjoyable summer vacations. Everything about it is beachy. We enjoyed barbecuing almost every eve and eating on the high deck, where there was always a breeze. (Often the barbeque was fresh scallops or other fish bought blocks away at the commercial fishing dock at Viking Village). While the house has air conditioners throughout, we turned them on only once in two summers. The house is cozy with cute beach art and collectibles. Our guests enjoyed it almost as much as we did (in fact one set of guests rented it after staying with us). It is one-half block from a spectacular, Cape-Cod-like beach. We always looked forward to walking up and down the dunes to the beach through the varied natural vegetation (though if you have tons of beach gear and are impatient to get to the waves, this stretch of beach is not for you). The street is quiet. The owner is a pleasure to deal with."

  • Nice and breezy oceanside summer home

"We had a pleasant, relaxing stay here. This house was really comfortable and had all the necessities (except bed linen and towels). The owner, Susan, was responsive to all questions and easily reachable when there was any problem (such as, where to find certain items). The location was good because we could walk to the lighthouse and to restaurants, such as, Kelly's Old Barney or Moustache Bill's diner. Poppy's was also great for ice cream. Another plus was that although there is central AC available, we didn't need it since the weather was nice enough that there were ocean breezes constantly cooling off the house. We had to give this listing 4 stars due to the 20+ minute walk to the beach. There is a shuttle but it had problems during our stay (kept getting stuck in the sand). Since there are no facilities on the beach (except for the lighthouse visitors' center), it's a long way just to use the bathroom! We found that this house worked well for us, a family of 5 adults - ages 20's to 50's. We had plenty of room and privacy. With that said, this may not be the ideal place for people who have trouble climbing stairs or for families with very young children since the kitchen and living room are on the third level."
