  • Amazing house

"We rented this wonderful house for three years and loved everything about it. The days and evenings with all the windows open, looking out over the dunes were incomparable. We waited all year just for those two weeks! The house is very comfortable and the kitchen lacks for nothing. All the appliances are upgraded - nicer than my own! You are just steps away from the beach but close to everything in Barnegat Light. Joan, the owner, is so nice and accommodating and wants you to have a wonderful visit to the island and you will, in this house."

  • Great Find

"We rented this wonderful beach house for a week with our family of 5 - three teenagers - and really enjoyed our stay! We had never stayed at the northern end of LBI and it was a such a great surprise! The dunes and beach are spectacular (a good walk to the water - but well worth it!) and we loved the quiet, natural vibe of Barnegat Light after staying for many years in Beach Haven. The house had everything we needed with a traditional beach house feel - we especially loved coffee in the morning and dinner on our deck amongst the pines. Enjoyed bicycle riding, parasailing, shopping at Viking Village, exploring at the lighthouse and nature trails and just chillin' on what seemed like our own private guarded beach."

  • Wonderful location & nice, bright vacation home!

"We stayed here in August of 2013 and had a really wonderful week. The owner was communicative and responsive to our inquiries and requests. We loved the separate living room areas so the teens could hang out downstairs while adults were upstairs. The house feels private as there are many trees surrounding it. Nice deck just off the kitchen through sliding glass doors, not too big, but enough to hold 5 or 6 adults sitting around a table to enjoy drinks. Loved that the grill was on the 2nd floor deck-- made for easy cooking and carrying food in and out. The rectangular picnic-style kitchen table was large, but we personally weren't fans of the benches as it is hard for people to get in and out once everyone is seated. Great A/C units in living room and bedrooms, although the 2 downstairs bedrooms did not have wall units-- one had a floor unit and the other did not have an A/C unit at all. This made for an uncomfortable stay for the occupant of that room! Amazing location in relation to the ocean. Just walk across the boulevard and one block to the beach. The walk to the water is long, which was hard for us with a 16-m.o. and my elderly father who is not in the best health. But for someone in decent shape (and without a baby), the walk is actually quite beautiful with the dunes and nature to observe! Another note about having the 16-month-old: while the house itself is great, we found that it is not the best option as far as being baby-safe. The stairs going up to the third floor have wide open slats and there is a gaping space from a 2nd floor platform that goes right into the stairwell-- very dangerous for a baby who is crawling around. We ended up having to move things to block that space and keep a baby gate (that we brought) against the stairs for the entire week. Probably not the best option for families with children under 2 because of this and other dangers such as the balcony deck off the kitchen--our daughter could have easily fit right through the banisters and fallen off, so we had to keep her off the deck the entire week. The fact that the house is not the safest for children under 2 does not devalue the fact that it is a wonderful house, but we weren't able to fully and completely relax for the week because we were watching out for our daughter's safety. We made do with creative solutions, and it was just fine! It would have been helpful knowing about the safety issues beforehand, though. Overall a great vacation home!"

  • Great location!

"We enjoyed this rental last summer, and we will be going back again next summer! Great location in Barnegat Light. Comfortable and well-appointed, the property is very convenient and worked well for our multi-generation family. It is in a relatively quiet area, which was perfect for our family. The fenced-in yard is great for young kids. We spent much of our time sitting on the wrap-around deck, enjoying the sea breeze. The owner and her family are very friendly and helpful!"

Barnegat Light Travel Tips

A Parkside View: Barnegat Light Vacation Rentals

When choosing between Long Beach Island beach houses, many people are impressed with the available Barnegat Light vacation rentals. One of the reasons for this is that Barnegat Light lodging options place vacationers close to the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park which cups the northeastern crescent of Long Beach Island. Some Barnegat Light vacation rentals even have light house views, such as a view of the Old Barney Light House.

Dining In Or Out

Staying in one of the available Barnegat Light vacation rentals gives the vacationers the choice to dine in or out. Although dining out can be a fun part of vacation, it can also get tiresome. Being able to make breakfast or put together picnic lunches is one of the great benefits of staying in one of the Barnegat Light vacation rentals.

There are also plenty of great restaurants available to those who are making use of Barnegat Light lodging options. Some local favorites are Mustache Bill's Diner?, Viking Fresh Off the Hook, Kelly's Old Barney Restaurant?, Rick's American Cafe, and View Restaurant?.

For the History Buffs

For history buffs making use of Barnegat Light lodging on their vacation, there is the Barnegat Light Museum which is situated in an old single room schoolhouse. The lighthouses in the area are also of great interest. While the state park and the museum are accessible to anyone staying in Long Beach Island beach houses, they are most convenient to those staying in Barnegat Light.

Penny Pinching in Luxury

One of the great things about staying in a vacation rental is that you'll be able to feel as though you are at home, enjoying plenty of space and privacy. However, you'll be able to save money by making your own meals and doing your own laundry. Vacation rentals are often more cost effective than hotels, especially for groups and large families and anyone looking to stay for more than just a few days.
