  • Absolutely Perfect!!

"We spent the end of September at this house and it was a perfect vacation. The pictures here do show how spacious and gorgeous the house is, but it is hard to really catch the beauty of the area itself, without being down there. We were able to see the sunrise AND sunset from the upper deck and each time it was amazing beyond words. Everything that was provided in the house was exactly what you would need - either for the beach or just to enjoy the home itself. We had a fairly large group of people and we were able to cook all of our meals there, having as good a time preparing them as we did eating together. We are already trying to put together when we can go here next year."

  • Great beach home for family vacation

"We had a wonderful week in easy walking distance of the beach, Barnegat Light, good local restaurants, two ice cream shops and a deli/bakery. The house was clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Well-equipped decks on the front and back of the house made it easy to seek out (or avoid) the sun all day long. Separate screened porch entry for two bedrooms on the lower level offer added privacy & convenience. Beautiful backyard landscaping and hammock. Beach chairs & umbrellas, boogie boards and outdoor shower were very convenient and helpful! We felt like we were sharing a friend's summer home ... not just renting a beach house. We'll be back!"

  • Exactly as described

"This home and location was exactly as described. It is very clean and allows for privacy. The views are great and the neighbors are very nice. We did not really need a car much and walked everywhere -- we also love the pork roll and egg sandwich from the Deli! The owner is incredibly responsive and the amenities along with instructions were very well organized. It was a long walk to the beach but we tend to only spend a few hours at a time on the beach so the distance was fine. Once you get to the waters edge, there aren't many beaches nicer than this one."

  • Very nice, clean and well equipped.

"We came up to New Jersey to move our daughter out of the dorms at Seton Hall and decided to stay four extra days. We decided to try to find a beach house less than a week ahead of time. The owners were great to work with and we were able to get this done very quickly. One thing to be aware of, here, is that they do not supply towels or bed sheets. We honestly, did not have room in the car to bring these items since we filled it up with the contents of a dorm room, but no problem, you can rent towels and sheets from a place right down the street and they were waiting for us at the front door when we arrived. It was a little early in the season, so it was a still too cool to lay on the beach, but we could still walk on the beach. We rented bikes one day and rode down to Surf City and back. While this was a nice ride during the off season, due to the many bays that come into the island, the only way to get there was to stay on the main road down the center of the island. I would imagine that in season, this road gets real busy. Since our daughter, had just spent a semester at college, she really wanted some home cooked meals, so we ate most of our meals in the house, but there were many restaurants and stores within walking distance or a short drive. Don't expect to be right on the beach here. The dunes here are the longest I have ever seen. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just be aware. Also, part of the path through the dunes is a wooden plank walkway. They laid the planks length wise (with the grain) so if you walk barefoot you can pick up a pretty nasty splinter (experience talking here). Flip flops or shoes would be recommended on the walk to the beach. We really enjoyed walking down to the lighthouse and walking to the top. We drove down to Surf City one day and went to a bookstore (I think it was called Book Worm?) and all got some books to read. The front porch was an excellent place to sit back and enjoy the breeze and read. Overall, it was a nice relaxing and comfortable stay. If you are looking for a beach town with a lot of action and things to do, this may not be your cup of tea. But if you want a nice relaxing place, close to the beach this house if perfect. If we have some more free time dropping off or picking up over the next couple of years, we will definitely try to stay here again."
