  • Adorable home and great for groups/families!

"The house is adorable! Really great for groups and families. Everyone in our group had rave reviews about the house! The kitchen was fully stocked, rooms are very well kept--nice linens and comfortable beds. My personal favorite was the large screened in porch--great for dining as it has a large table that can comfortably seat more than 12. The house is also offset from the main road, so private, and it is near the water, so it has a beautiful view. The living is also very homey and comfortable--great place to hang out. Last, but not least, he house is only a five minute (or less) walk from the beach."

  • Would rent this property again

"This house was very comfortable for my family. It's exactly as pictured and had what we needed for a great vacation. The location is very nice, a short walk to the beach was manageable even for the toddlers. Most everything is a short car ride away, including the ACME supermarket, although a short bike ride will get you to the Custard Shack, Haymarket hobbie and toy store and mini golf. You can walk to Daddy O for a cocktail or dinner, but we mostly cooked our meals in the lovely kitchen since we had small children with us. During our stay the weather was perfect for the beach so we didn't inquire about the pool at St. Francis, but having that option was a plus. The owner was very nice to deal with. We didn't have any issues, but I feel he would have been responsive to our needs if necessary."

  • Loved our week here in Harvey Cedars

"This is the perfect setting for a large extended family. The layout was ideal, open floor plan so all could be together and two separate living areas when you wanted some alone time. The walk to the beach is short and beautiful. They provided plenty of really nice beach chairs and a cart to bring them to the beach. It is a bike ride to everything you need, bay beach, playground, restaurants and most important ice cream shops. The only things I think they could improve upon are a bigger refrigerator, measuring cups, and a twin bed that is extra long(tall son). Both decks are safe for small children. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. Looking forward to next year."

  • great location, comfortable for a crowd

"Our family group of 13 (ages 1 to 75) had a great time in this comfortable, clean, and compact house. The location truly cannot be beat. We went for almost an entire week without using cars, and the 4 and 5 year olds in our group could easily walk to and from the beach (and to ice cream, coffee shops, and a small grocery/convenience store). Ocean Grove is a charming town and the beaches are clean and well guarded. While the house is "compact" the three levels plus two large porches meant that we never felt like we were on top of each other or cramped. The house contained almost everything we needed (except a high chair and portacrib that we brought for the smallest) and this made our stay quite easy and relaxing. It stayed cool on a humid/muggy day and night (with A/C and fans); the kitchen was very well appointed with the gear we needed to cook communal meals from scratch; two large tables - one in the kitchen, the second in the front room - provided ample room for us all to sit together to eat as well. The amenities (bathrooms, kitchen appliances, w/d) were all in good working order and on the "new" side. Most impressively, all of the advertised beach gear - beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, toys, tags - was there and in excellent condition. The good weather meant that we did not nee to delve deeply into the enormous DVD collection but we could have happily passed rainy/bad weather days in the basement media room. Two of the bedrooms are capacious, the other three are smaller (though not cramped). The basement bedroom with a twin bed provided a useful retreat for the teenager; the bedroom with four bunks and a double bed good for the smaller kids and parents. I think the only thing we thought was missing were some reading lights! But in an age of the Kindle, this was a truly minor thing. ON that note, the house does not (this year, 2014) have WiFi, which some in our party (the teenager in particular) initially found frustrating. But by the end of the week, the enforced "respite" from the screens and the many pleasures of being together that this nice house offered to us had turned into a very good thing! We had a great time."
