"I came here with a group of my friends and we had an amazing time. The view was beautiful, and the owner is easily one of the nicest people I have ever been in contact with. The back deck was a wonderful place to hang out during the day and at night, and the BBQ made our weekend even better. We had an amazing time and I have to say we owe that to the owners. They made our stay so much more enjoyable and relaxing. The house is nice, and the fact that it is right on the bay made it even better. The beach was very close, but with the view in the back, we didn't feel the need to be at the beach a lot. I have to say, the owners are the nicest people I have been in contact with, and our stay would not have been the same without them. We had an amazing weekend at this incredible beach house."

"This adorable shore cottage shows the love of the owners. If you are looking for a spotless, perfectly located beach home to escape for a peaceful vacation, look no further. My 20 something daughters and 80+ dad had a wonderful stay here; enjoying the breezes in the front porch, all meals on the back deck and daily walks on the peaceful streets and beach. The close proximity to the beach and pleasant neighbors makes this home perfect in all our eyes. We really appreciated the convenience of the corner deli a block away to grab a bite for breakfast or lunch. I can't wait to make summer memories here again. The owners are terrific and it shows in their attention to your needs and in the up keep of their home. Thank you for a perfect summer stay."

"Our family group of 13 (ages 1 to 75) had a great time in this comfortable, clean, and compact house. The location truly cannot be beat. We went for almost an entire week without using cars, and the 4 and 5 year olds in our group could easily walk to and from the beach (and to ice cream, coffee shops, and a small grocery/convenience store). Ocean Grove is a charming town and the beaches are clean and well guarded. While the house is "compact" the three levels plus two large porches meant that we never felt like we were on top of each other or cramped.
The house contained almost everything we needed (except a high chair and portacrib that we brought for the smallest) and this made our stay quite easy and relaxing. It stayed cool on a humid/muggy day and night (with A/C and fans); the kitchen was very well appointed with the gear we needed to cook communal meals from scratch; two large tables - one in the kitchen, the second in the front room - provided ample room for us all to sit together to eat as well. The amenities (bathrooms, kitchen appliances, w/d) were all in good working order and on the "new" side. Most impressively, all of the advertised beach gear - beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, toys, tags - was there and in excellent condition. The good weather meant that we did not nee to delve deeply into the enormous DVD collection but we could have happily passed rainy/bad weather days in the basement media room.
Two of the bedrooms are capacious, the other three are smaller (though not cramped). The basement bedroom with a twin bed provided a useful retreat for the teenager; the bedroom with four bunks and a double bed good for the smaller kids and parents. I think the only thing we thought was missing were some reading lights! But in an age of the Kindle, this was a truly minor thing.
ON that note, the house does not (this year, 2014) have WiFi, which some in our party (the teenager in particular) initially found frustrating. But by the end of the week, the enforced "respite" from the screens and the many pleasures of being together that this nice house offered to us had turned into a very good thing! We had a great time."

"I just spent a lovely, relaxing few weeks at the Blue Hydrangea. Christine is the perfect hostess: the apartment was spotlessly clean and attention was paid to every detail! She even left a bowl of fresh, organic fruit on the shelf
in the kitchen, which was perfectly stocked with utensils, dishes, pots and everything needed to prepare meals. There were so many little thoughtful touches, such as a small container with notepaper and pens - right where you would need them for notes and phone numbers - a night light in the bathroom, lots of ice in the freezer and a
drawer filled with information about the area - maps, menus, phone book, etc.
Christine and Randy are available for any questions and concerns, but they do not intrude on your privacy and the apartment is very private. There is a large deck with lounge chairs and a table for enjoying meals outside.
I enjoyed sitting with a cup of coffee in the morning, listening to the birds!
The Belmar beach is beautiful and there is a long boardwalk for early morning and late night walks. The town takes very good care of the beachfront area and there are several places to get pizza and other fast foods, as well as a couple of restaurants across from the ocean. As a bonus, the train to NYC stops right at the edge of town!
Thank you Christine and Randy for a relaxing, comfortable stay at the Jersey Shore!!"
