"A portion of my extended family had a reunion here -- we had three families with a total of five kids age 1-6, plus a few grandparents, aunts, and uncles. We were there for a week. For our group, this place was perfect.
The beach was half a block away. The town, Ocean Grove, is great for families. It's quiet, not crowded, and our block seemed to be populated with more families of all ages, including young kids. The house has a fenced-in front yard, and our kids had hours of fun there while parents watched from the porch.
Four of the five bedrooms are on the same floor, so our kids were able to run into each others' rooms and play together without climbing stairs. If you have toddlers, you may want to bring a safety gate like we did, because this floor is at the top of stairs. Three of the beds were large enough for a couple to co-sleep with a baby, and the other two could work with a single parent and baby.
I would say the place could comfortably bed five couples, assuming their dispositions match the available rooms -- two rooms have large beds and luxurious spaces with their own private sitting-rooms and bathrooms; two are simply bedrooms with just enough space for their wide beds and dressers; and the fifth has a single-size bed with a pull-out bed underneath, and will feel a bit like a college dorm if you put two people in there. We put two teenage boys in, and they didn't complain. Technically, there are also two fold-out futons in the finished basement, but none of our party who tried it gave a good review of it -- this was partly because of some mustiness when we first arrived, which was probably due to recent rainy weather, and which cleared up after a dehumidifier was added. And there is a comfy couch upstairs (which may fold out? We didn't try), but that space has no privacy.
The manager is very responsive. We communicated by phone and text message; often in real-time.
There are two full kitchens, each with a dishwasher. There is a laundry closet with machines. There are also two full (and stocked!) wet-bars, and the manager told me the informal policy was just that any emptied bottles be disposed of.
Place was more than abundantly stocked with dishes, eating utensils, cooking equipment; also bedding. As far as I know, there were enough towels for our large group, too, although I didn't survey to see how many people had brought their own. The only things we had to buy and bring were food, toiletries, paper towels."
