  • Beautiful NJ Alps Condo

"We initially had different lodging arrangements for my boyfriends cousins wedding, but when we discovered that our dog's "babysitter" had to back out of being able to care for him, we decided to find a place that allowed for/ would consider small pets. We were considerably lucky to come across Bruce's available condo in the NJ Alps. Bruce was quick to respond to our initial inquiry and everything from that point forward was smooth sailing. He not only got back to us always in a timely fashion, but also went above and beyond with emailing us local attractions to see and activities to do. His professionalism and going above and beyond attitude translated to and was evident in the care, cleanliness, and attention to detail of his condo. We were comfortable, pleased, and happy with everything about our stay! Thanks Bruce!"

  • Romantic Getaway

"As a returning guest of this property I cant emphasis the convenience and comfortable nature of the unit. It is a great size for 2-4 people and the view of the mountain cant be beat. It was well equipped for all the needs of my weekend getaway. I recommend it for hitting the slopes or enjoying any of the luxuries Mountain Creek offers (golf, water park, ziplining etc.). I also suggest staying here if you plan to go to the Warwick winery--it was a short 10 minute drive. The hot tub at the end of the day really makes the trip. Helena is by far the best property manager I have worked with and I have rented a lot from vrbo and homeaway.com. She really cares about her unit and those who rent with her. I recommend her property to anyone who is thinking of a weekend getaway! If you are looking for a good meal, I suggest Kites!"

  • Comfortable and lovely home

"My husband, 2 sons and older son's girlfriend just spent a wonderful, relaxing few days in this vacation rental. From the moment we stepped in the door until we left, we were quite comfortable and felt at home. Loved the large bathrooms and the full size and fully stocked kitchen. The balcony provided a great view as we enjoyed our morning coffee and our evening beverages. We took advantage of the pool, hot tubs and game room which provided relaxation and entertainment. The beds were very comfortable and we felt like we were sleeping at home! We met some very nice, interesting people and would love to return for a longer stay, perhaps in the fall or winter. A definite thumbs up!"

  • 3rd year renting, absolutely wonderful!

"As always our stay was great. The house is just as advertised plus more. The kids had a great time being so near the lake and clubhouse. Barbara made sure we didn't want for a thing. A fun, relaxing and pleasant time was had by all. Looking forward to next year. June & Ed Merrill"

Skylands Region Travel Tips

Easy Access to Skylands, New Jersey From Skylands Vacation Rentals

The region known as Skylands is located in the northwest corner of New Jersey. Here, Skylands lodging is close to 60,000 acres of national parkland. It is a great area to enjoy the vast open spaces and outdoor activities available. It is easily accessible via major state and interstate highways, such as the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. It is also within an easy distance of Newark Liberty International airport and well serviced by Amtrak. The region includes the counties of Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.

Come and See the Wolves, Bear, Deer and Muskrats at Skylands Lodging

This diverse region, with its lakes, rivers and rolling hills scattered with farms provides a stunning backdrop to Skylands vacation homes. Skylands contains two National Parks: Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Morristown National Historic Park. Delaware Water Gap contains 40 miles of the Middle Delaware River running through uninhabited forest. This is a perfect escape from the world where the beautifully clean river provides great swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting or tubing opportunities. Throughout the winter, the trails become a perfect setting for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The area has been a haven for hikers for over 200 years, with mile after mile of wilderness. One of the dozen or so buildings within the park is early 1900s Millbrook Village where volunteer "villagers" reenact bygone days for visitors.

Lakota Wolf Preserve provides a unique opportunity to watch these mysterious and elusive creatures in their natural habitat. There is nothing quite like spotting a pack of the local Tundra, Timber and Arctic wolves, or just hearing their distinctive, chilling howls. Lucky visitors may also spot a bobcat or fox during their trip. At Spruce Run, with close to 30 different species of fish, visitors can fish for bass, perch, carp, trout, pike and many others. Once you have caught enough, you should take them home and throw them on the grill. At the Round Valley Reservoir, divers and swimmers are welcome to take advantage of the clean waters. The Merrill Creek Reservoir is 650 acres of wilderness area where visitors may spot the local residents, such as black bear, white-tailed deer, fox, muskrats and birds such as bald eagles, hawks and herons. It is also a great fishing spot with several species of trout and bass there.

Shop at the Local Farmers' Market and Catch Your own Dinner

Visitors to Skylands vacation rentals will also want to explore the many local towns, like High Bridge, Newton, Flemington and Washington, where the local farmers' markets will provide the opportunity to buy some wonderful fresh produce to take back to your vacation home. Phillipsburg, with its historic Victorian buildings, is a place for family fun, with train rides and river boat trips, rafting and tubing. This region is a big producer of blueberries and cranberries and visitors will enjoy sampling the local dishes, filled with these staple products. For those who enjoy a round of golf, there are fabulous courses around the area.

Bring the Dog to Your Skylands Vacation Homes

Skylands vacation homes are as unique as the region. Whether you are looking for a romantic hideaway for two or a large family home, there is a perfect choice available. Rentals come packed with everything you need to make yourself at home. Many properties are on the lake and have decks, docks and some even include a boat! There are properties with wireless internet access, BBQs, and entertainment systems. There’s even room for the dog as many homes are happy to accommodate pets.
