  • Great 2 nite stay with the Family

"My family enjoyed the one bedroom condo at the base of the ski resort. Photos shown are very accurate, owner was very helpful and friendly. I would stay at this condo again and highly recommend this owner to my family & friends."

  • Much Needed mini Vacation

"I recently stayed in this rental to celebrate my birthday with my Boyfriend and 2 other couples. The room was perfect for a group getaway. With 3 couples, two rooms and the pull out couch we had more then enough room to be comfy, plus the view of the mountain is the best in the complex! (trust me I've stay here before) The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We had brought some food with us, and managed to cook each night without going out and spending money. Plus it's nice and big, 3 people cooking in there and not crowded :) Bill was a pleasure and easy to work with. I will be renting from him again, and I most definitely recommend staying in his unit and enjoying a nice mini vacation at the mountain. Thanks Bill!"

  • Beautiful home for a winter weekend with friends

"My friends and I stayed in this lovely lakefront home for three nights over a winter weekend and we couldn't have been happier -- it was a fantastic space for a 40th-birthday house party. Super-comfortable living spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, and gorgeous views over the frozen lake allowed us to cook, eat, relax and have a wonderful time. We had a number of issues while we where there -- furnace ran out of fuel, driveway became impassable in the snow -- but Sharon remained calm and extremely helpful though it all, and sent out friendly contractors to meet all our needs, even having her handy-man buy space heaters and bring them over while we waited for the furnace to start working again. I hope (for her sake as much as yours) that these things never happen to you while you stay there, but if they do, rest assured that you'l be fine!"

  • Lovely Rental Unit

"My daughter and granddaughter and I rented this unit and thought it was spacious for the 3 of us and the kitchenette came in handy where we prepared breakfast for ourselves. Bathroom is very nice and had a tub and large shower and separate bedroom was roomy too. The pool area was great for us to relax. I'd definitely rent this unit again!"

Skylands Region Travel Tips

Easy Access to Skylands, New Jersey From Skylands Vacation Rentals

The region known as Skylands is located in the northwest corner of New Jersey. Here, Skylands lodging is close to 60,000 acres of national parkland. It is a great area to enjoy the vast open spaces and outdoor activities available. It is easily accessible via major state and interstate highways, such as the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. It is also within an easy distance of Newark Liberty International airport and well serviced by Amtrak. The region includes the counties of Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.

Come and See the Wolves, Bear, Deer and Muskrats at Skylands Lodging

This diverse region, with its lakes, rivers and rolling hills scattered with farms provides a stunning backdrop to Skylands vacation homes. Skylands contains two National Parks: Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Morristown National Historic Park. Delaware Water Gap contains 40 miles of the Middle Delaware River running through uninhabited forest. This is a perfect escape from the world where the beautifully clean river provides great swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting or tubing opportunities. Throughout the winter, the trails become a perfect setting for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The area has been a haven for hikers for over 200 years, with mile after mile of wilderness. One of the dozen or so buildings within the park is early 1900s Millbrook Village where volunteer "villagers" reenact bygone days for visitors.

Lakota Wolf Preserve provides a unique opportunity to watch these mysterious and elusive creatures in their natural habitat. There is nothing quite like spotting a pack of the local Tundra, Timber and Arctic wolves, or just hearing their distinctive, chilling howls. Lucky visitors may also spot a bobcat or fox during their trip. At Spruce Run, with close to 30 different species of fish, visitors can fish for bass, perch, carp, trout, pike and many others. Once you have caught enough, you should take them home and throw them on the grill. At the Round Valley Reservoir, divers and swimmers are welcome to take advantage of the clean waters. The Merrill Creek Reservoir is 650 acres of wilderness area where visitors may spot the local residents, such as black bear, white-tailed deer, fox, muskrats and birds such as bald eagles, hawks and herons. It is also a great fishing spot with several species of trout and bass there.

Shop at the Local Farmers' Market and Catch Your own Dinner

Visitors to Skylands vacation rentals will also want to explore the many local towns, like High Bridge, Newton, Flemington and Washington, where the local farmers' markets will provide the opportunity to buy some wonderful fresh produce to take back to your vacation home. Phillipsburg, with its historic Victorian buildings, is a place for family fun, with train rides and river boat trips, rafting and tubing. This region is a big producer of blueberries and cranberries and visitors will enjoy sampling the local dishes, filled with these staple products. For those who enjoy a round of golf, there are fabulous courses around the area.

Bring the Dog to Your Skylands Vacation Homes

Skylands vacation homes are as unique as the region. Whether you are looking for a romantic hideaway for two or a large family home, there is a perfect choice available. Rentals come packed with everything you need to make yourself at home. Many properties are on the lake and have decks, docks and some even include a boat! There are properties with wireless internet access, BBQs, and entertainment systems. There’s even room for the dog as many homes are happy to accommodate pets.
