  • Retreat Within A Resort

"We visited Vineyard Vista for the Easter weekend this year and can't wait to go back. We have stayed in Cape May a few times on Beach Ave, but would find ourselves in West Cape May to spend time on Sunset Beach, the bird sanctuary, the WWII tower, and the wineries more often than not. We walked one day from the house, through the bird sanctuary, past the lighthouse, back through Sunset Beach, and back to the house for relaxation. It is right across the street from a very nice winery and has great views. The owner lives next door and is very friendly and accommodating. The cottage has everything you need and is very clean. There is a shed to keep bikes - Washington Square and the South Cape May beaches are only a short bike ride away. Lovely place to stay."

  • Great location and massive suite

"Five friends and I came here to relax, have fun and take a short vacation. We booked the Master Suite/Master Bedroom. Each of the three bedrooms was a nice size and the Master Bedroom was HUGE with its own bathroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, silverware, glasses and so forth. There was a nice deck off the back of the kitchen and plenty of room within the suite for card and board games. The Columbia House is a short walk to the beach and the Washington Street mall. You have some ocean views from the Master Bedroom (mostly in the bathroom and from the front windows). Pros: location, big suite, friendliness of Laura and her husband. Cons: living room was a little smaller compared to the rest of the suite (but I'm grasping at straws here). Also, keep in mind that there are people staying in the Suites around you. We had a highly competitive game of Taboo going without realizing a young couple with a baby was below us (Sorry!!!). Renting the entire second floor is great for groups. Just note that to get to the Master Bedroom you either need to go through the second bedroom or outside into the hallway and in through another door (not an inconvenience for us at all, but some may find the layout a bit odd). 2 parking spots for the entire suite as well. I would highly recommend the Columbia House (this is, after all, my second time there)."

  • Wonderful Location

"We stayed in this lovely home in August 2014. What is there not to love about Cape May and this location is perfect. We had 3 children under 4 years old and 6 adults. Plenty of room for all. No matter what your tastes are from beach to shopping to bike riding to quiet time on the porch it had it all. Being able to do all within walking distance is great. The stairs can be difficult for small children and anyone with mobility issues and getting our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs (one spiral) and back down was an issue we were glad we had to deal with only arriving and leaving. Great vacation home!"

  • Perfect House and Location for Families

"My family stayed here for about a week. Let me say as others have noted, the photos do not show what a gem this place is. It was very clean and organized. The owner's have a manual for everything you need to know about the house itself and the surrounding areas including brochures for attractions and menus for local restaurants. I was quite impressed with how orderly it was. The yard and pool were bonus for us since we have a child. There were days he didn't want to go to the beach and instead opted to swim in the pool. Wildwood and Historic Cape May are a 15 minute drive from this location. The bay beach is half a block away. The zoo is about a 20 minute drive. We will definitely be coming back for years to come. The owners were great to deal with. I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to be in the direct mix and willing to drive a little."
