  • The best vacation!

"I've been vacationing in Cape May for 20 years and this August, my fiancé and I enjoyed our stay in this beach more than I can express in this review! We spent two glorious weeks in this beautiful beach house, corner lot with spacious interior, plenty of parking spaces and a wonderful deck offering spectacular views of the Delaware Bay! The sunsets rival the "greatest show in the Keys"! David and Janine provide everything the vacationer could want and more. Whether you want to spend a day on the Bay beach or CM City beach, riding bicycles or simply sitting on the deck or porch, they provide every amenity you can imagine to make your day a special one. From the house, the path over the dune to the beach is quintessential Cape May. We walked the beach every morning and most mornings we saw dolphins not far from us swimming north in the bay! Every day we marveled at the sandbar that appears with low tide. It allowed us to walk further out into the bay and search for Cape May Diamonds! We enjoyed breakfasts on the deck and would drive into CM City (during the hottest part of the days) to lunch at many of our favorite haunts (Zoe's, the Mad Batter, the Pier House, Hot Dog Tommy's, and the Lobster House-of course-just to name a few!) For years, we've been seeing the banners advertising Harpoon Henry's and this year, we found it! Although, we didn't need to dine there to watch the sunset (since we had a perfect view from the deck of the beach house), we did eat dinner there twice and enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the close proximity to the house (less than one mile!) We enjoyed grilling the best fresh cut filets from the West Side Market! We enjoyed the best fresh seafood (shrimp and day boat scallops) from Fresh Catch, a new fish market on Bayshore. Their prices were in line with the quality of their offerings. We enjoyed visiting the local farm markets almost every day to pick up something for dinner or breakfast the next day! Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. We've been to the CM Vineyards & Winery many times, so, we visited the Hawk Haven Vineyards & Winery-they offer live music on Sundays! The beach house is so conveniently located close to the Bay beach, to the Ferry, to grocery stores, to fresh farm markets, to the airport, to the harbor, to CM City beaches, shopping & events, to CM Lighthouse, to Migratory Bird Sanctuary, to Sunset Beach, to EVERYTHING! Yet, you don't even have to leave the house to have a wonderful time!"

  • Great location, size and owner!!

"We have stayed in this unit for two weeks every year for the past four years. As you enter the house you will notice 2 BIG decks: one with a grill and a table right off the kitchen and a larger wrap-around porch with two tables and chairs and a third seating area. The kitchen is large with a big farm style table that easily seats 12. Next to the kitchen is a formal dining room with a table that seats 8 comfortably and invariably gets turned into an office or card playing table throughout the week. The living area is a little dark because of the unpainted wood details common to the age of the house. (I believe it was built in the early 1900's.) Both sets of stairs are solid and wide. The room at the top of the stairs has recently be redone with new furniture. (My mom says the bed is to die for. Next comes a beautifully renovated bathroom that pays homage to the era of the house...Bob replaced the wiring and left the antique light switches in place. The next room is my daughters own little oasis. The room is painted a dark green and has been coupled with white plantation style furniture. The master bedroom is beautiful with a king sized four poster bed and a reading alcove that is surrounded on three sides by windows. The view of the ocean from this point is very relaxing. It also has a HUGE walk-in closet. (I'm secretly crossing my fingers that it will one day be turned into a powder room for the master thereby making it into a master suite.) The top floor sports a bathroom that would make a spa feel jealous. IT has a large glass enclosed shower stall and a soaking, claw-foot tub. The next bedroom is compact and features a full sized bed. The final room is what we affectionately refer to the "grandkids room" even though we have yet to have any. It consists of two sets of bunk beds with a trendily under each allowing sleeping for 6. If you are vacationing with little ones and you end up with a rainy day, it's nice to be able to send them to the third floor so they won't disturb the downstairs neighbors. You would be hard pressed to find something this large in this area of the boardwalk. The last amenity that you can't put a price on is that this unit gets ALL of the parking spaces behind the house. We have parked 5 cars there a few times and four fits quite easily. Bob is a wonderful owner and tries to deal with any issues as soon as he hears of it. (**Some of these pics are a little out of date)"

  • Great stay

"The place looks exactly like it does in the pictures and was perfectly suited for 6 people (but the main area is definitely big enough to fit 8 as the listing describes). The main area allowed us to all hang out together for the whole trip without feeling crowded. The place is about 10 min from the beach, behind the convention center so no beach views but definitely close to the beach (you do have to cross two big-ish roads to get there but that's wildwood and it wasn't bad at all) and it's right on the boardwalk which was really fun! Right by roller coasters and board walk games. The tvs in the place were really old and the dvd player didnt work, but it was still a great place to hang out and I'd definitely recommend it."
