"We had a wonderful time at The Skies@Taos. The photos do not show the vast expanse of space in the house and picture perfect views of surrounding mountains from almost every cardinal pt.
We used four of the five bedrooms as we had two/three other couples stay with us several days during our week. We had several evening cookouts on the patio using the outdoor gas grill. There's also a charcoal grill (old school). We did not fire up the kiva fireplace, but it looks nice in the corner of great room(~25x30x12).
A week prior to visit Brook sent us almost a dozen emails with precise directions, history, events, dining etc. We went white water rafting on Rio Grande in August. River was running only 350cgs instead of 1500, so it was a Disney style slow mostly lazy river 2.5hr morning. Nearby Taos Mesa Brewery became our go to hangout for beer and live music. We also enjoyed several fine restaurants in downtown, about 10min by car.
After over 30years of visiting SW, we finally saw the 90th Burning of Zozobra in Santa Fe, usually labor day weekend. Any history buff would be very very impressed as we were. We would highly recommend this house for R&R, artistic, spiritual, and environmentally conscious (Earthship project is 20min away) people.

"First let me say to the owners, Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! We have rented many homes in the past, but, this one was perfect. We spent a long weekend here with our 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Each family had their own rooms and bathrooms, which was so nice. The kitchen is large, spacious and was well equipped with all of our needs. Although the kids enjoyed the hot tub and playing pool downstairs, most of our time was spent on the upper, outdoor deck playing board games and visiting. Having access to the garage was nice as there was a storm that moved through bringing hail with it. We were able to move the vehicles inside with no worries! There was really no need for us to go into town, however the home's location is just close enough to town to be convenient for shopping, dining, and so much more. Precious memories were made that will last a lifetime. We look forward to our next trip to Ruidoso!! :)"

Nicely appointed room located close to attractions
"This home is well appointed, with beautiful living spaces to gather or be alone. All four bedrooms are quite comfortable, and none of us had to sleep on a twin bed - that was important to us. Three restrooms were ample for eight of us, and we had everything we needed in all living spaces (kitchen has some appliances I would love to have at home). Be advised, there is no central air in this house. The coolers available up and downstairs were ample to keep the house cool during the mid-eighty days we experienced in June, but I recommend you open all windows and doors at night to allow the cool mountain air into the home. We did nightly, and the coolers did not have to work as hard to keep the house cool during the day.
Our group of eight adults spent most of our time outdoors on the patio, which was actually the largest outdoor space. Several chairs and an ample table allowed us all to gorge on Pico de Gallo and chips as well as a cool beverage each evening. We cooked primarily on the outdoor grill, but the kitchen - with its breathtaking view of the mountains - provides a very nice stove and oven as well. We ate either at the large dining room table or outside on the patio. We did take advantage of the hot tub one evening while there, and it was quite invigorating after a long day hiking Bandelier National Monument.
For those not familiar with this location, the house is within minutes of the Plaza, several casinos, and only an hour from Bandelier, all of which you should not miss. Get a good map of Santa Fe, and plan to park in one of the many parking garages near the Plaza. Walking the Plaza is mild for most, and there are lots of shady places to sit and people watch if you get tired.
While the Plaza is south of this beautiful home, Bandelier and the casinos are north. Our casino of choice - Buffalo Thunder - is less than a 15 minute drive from the house. We discovered it on our way to Bandelier, and returned for a couple of hours of fun. The group won more than they lost at this casino, while we were not so lucky at others. Don't waste your money in the casino bar and grill; take the opportunity to eat at really good restaurants either on the Plaza, or a local favorite such as the Pantry Restaurant (1820 Cerrillos Rd). Yum!
If you are on the fence about this home, I encourage you to take a chance. The caretaker is responsive to your needs, and the home is comfortable and well situated to many unique places to visit near Santa Fe."
