  • Cozy, great location, friendly owners

"Cozy upstairs studio with lots of room, large deck for watching the stars, very well supplied kitchen... hot tub, which I didn't have time to use! and GREAT location. Walking distance to the center of Taos...quiet neighborhood...Only caveat.. parking place under the deck is for 2 cars for the two apts, and a little tight so if you have a truck or large car may have to park somewhere else...watch out for the struts holding up the deck when pulling in or out...I wanted to stay a little later than the normal check out and because there was no one coming in after me, the owners were very accomodating and was able to stay. Also good water pressure and hot water. thank you!"

  • Lovely House

"We spent a delightful five days in this house! The house is well appointed and has everything you need to enjoy Santa Fe! It is walking distance to the Plaza and to many great restaurants and other sites, including the SF farmers market. We loved the house -- the two bedrooms and bathrooms met our needs perfectly and we were very comfortable. The common space was great -- for being together inside and out -- since the garden is delightful and the dining area and living room have comfortable seating! Parking was easy, though we only used our car for outside of the city excursions. The owners are extremely knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. A great experience for us in every way!"

  • Sunflower Casita SE

"My wife and I are in our mid-60's. We stayed 5 nights in early August in the Sunflower SE casita. Another couple-lifelong friends-stayed in the NE casita, which was very convenient. We enjoyed sharing coffee and breakfast in the mornings, as well as drinks in the evenings on the patios. Before we arrived, we were afraid that the casita wouldn't be as nice as it looked in the web-site photos, but those concerns melted away when we first walked in. The first word we each said "Wow!" The patio, interior, & dishware were sparkling clean. There was a generous supply of laundry/bath/dishwasher soaps, shampoos, lotions, towels, pillows, etc. Lighting was good. This unit also has the convenience of a washer/dryer that worked great. Plenty of parking right outside the patio gate. Very short walk to the Plaza area. The neighborhood is nice, and quiet-and just a couple blocks from main streets you need to travel around by car. There's a big grocery store and mall less than a mile away. Our only issue was that the coffee maker didn't work well the first morning. But the Adobe Star people replaced it in less than an hour after I called. I'd call that great service! My wife and I have visited Santa Fe from northern Colorado many, many times-almost every year. We've always stayed in a lovely hotel also near the plaza. Of course, you don't get the full hotel experience here: no daily maid service or "free" breakfast buffet. But what you DO get is much larger, nicer accommodations for a LOT less money! We will definitely return-perhaps as early as our wedding anniversary this coming January!"

  • Month of Bliss!

"Let me start by saying this review might be long! I'll start with the accommodations: they were better than the website could convey. The view from every window is spectacular, and it was more spacious than we'd anticipated. The furnishings were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and sleeping arrangements were more than adequate for all guests. We had various family and friends drop in, and had anywhere from 2 to 7 people there at once. We had teenage girls in the loft area, and adults downstairs. We wanted to escape the heat, and get a break from our hectic lives, and we picked the perfect place to do so. Summer is an amazing time to visit, and we enjoyed hiking to Williams Lake, and various other areas around the property, grilling dinner on the deck, sipping coffee on the deck, watching movies at night, and spending time together. We went to The Bavarian for lunch and dinner a few times (a short walk from the condo), and basically simply enjoyed the cool weather and scenery. Food: If you're cooking at the condo, remember he altitude, and know that pasta takes about twice as long to cook (as well as boiling potatoes), and when baking, use a little extra flour. I got most of my groceries at Smith's in Taos, and some specialty items at Cid's. Make a list, and make sure you've got everything before heading to the condo as it's about a 40 minute drive. Eating out in Taos: breakfast (or lunch) at Taos Diner is a must! Huge portions, reasonable prices, and delicious. Taos Outback Pizza - salads! The house dressing is amazing. Guadalajara Grill is good for Mexican. Taos Cow in Arroyo Seco has great ice cream! Shopping: if you're going into town to do some shopping or sightseeing in the plaza area, you can park for free off of Camino de la Placita (we never paid for parking). Also, you can find souvenir-type items for sale at the Rio Grande Gorge bridge for better prices than in town. Francesca's in Arroyo Seco is a charming ladies boutique - cute stuff! Sightseeing: there's so many interesting and beautiful things to see and do in the area. You've got to get the Rio Grande Gorge, you must visit the plaza area, especially the Taos Farmers Market on Saturday mornings in the summer. San Francisco de Asis (church in Ranchos Des Taos) is a must see - put it on your list of photo ops! We also loved Arroyo Seco - charming small town! We would highly recommend this place, and cherish the memories we made here! Loved it!"
