"This was our first experience renting a home for a vacation... We have 2 kids that have special needs, allergies and sensitivities. It is a tricky proposition to travel to unknown places! Ted was so patient while disclosing information about his home - everything from where his water comes from to the fabric content of his sheets, cleaning products used, available sources for food that would accommodate our needs... Of course we were thrilled at the beautiful photos but what they don't show is the level of attention given to the home's upkeep. It is clean and so easy to be in! The views are simply spectacular... The spaces are open, free of clutter and so peaceful inside and out it is tough to get motivated to leave! The layout of the home is great - 2 bedrooms for the kids on one side of the home with corresponding bathrooms, the master bedroom on the other. Ted is funny and helpful and was available during our stay via phone if we needed something. Every accommodation for comfort has been accounted for. As you might have noticed from other reviews, there is an elderly dog named Seltzer that lives there. He is super cool - always sweet and good! We were concerned about allergy issues for our kids, but had absolutely none - he stays outside and was a wonderful part of our experience. The drive into town (Sandia Crest, Albuquerque and Santa Fe were easy and scenic. At the end of a long day it was an amazing treat to head back to this peaceful and beautifully maintained getaway. We are grateful for the chance to have stayed here and will look forward to doing it again!!!! Look no further - you have just found paradise in New Mexico!"

  • Family Reunion

"Description is accurate--old hacienda style. There was enough room for all 14 of us. It was like we were moving in a house of our own. The owner was gracious to allow a late check-in and a late check-out. The kitchen was large enough to to prepare all meals but one which we ordered pizza. We had way too many left-overs. The house was clean and every worked. The yard needed some attention. Weeds and wood-splitting debris left the expansive yard a bit untidy. I have some trouble moving about. The uneven (but stylish) floors presented a challenge. I was the only one with such a disability who seemed to mind. I had set routes from room to room. Then the movements were cautious but doable. Any questions for the owner were just a quick phone call away. Always pleasant and cordial, it was a pleasure to talk to him. The children ranged in age from 3 to 20 years old. All were mostly occupied with electronic games on the big screen TV. Again, it was just like home. Entertainment around the large and beautiful dinning table could involve everyone in table games. Old town plaza was pleasant walk about and shopping was in an old-time Taos retro adventure. We did not venture far away from "home." Our objective for the time was a quiet get-a-way with each other. We were quite familiar with the area and there are opportunities galore for mountain experiences of all kinds: fishing, hiking, bicycling, car shows, skiing, boating, photography,.... New Mexico is a great place to get to know. Would I recommend time with this house? This is a huge house. It is probably not the venue for a romantic get-a-way. Families will like the room. Disabilities are welcome, but wheelchairs would be near impossible. All ages will be feel at home. I would recommend for large groups with family activities. (Of course, there are limitations for the handicapped. Make the reservation. It will be fun."

"What a great place to stay! The cabin had everything we needed to make ourselves at home for the week. The backyard view was amazing and just a quick drive to town if we needed anything. Lots of things to do and see to keep our 3 little ones entertained. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful place to refuel and enjoy the beautiful nature around them."

  • Santa Fe Historical Casita

"What a spectacular home base for a visit to Santa Fe. Private and quiet yet blocks away from the center of town. You are immersed in Southwestern culture in a beautiful home filled with lovely details. We couldn't have picked a better place for our first visit to Santa Fe and would certainly rent this home again."
