  • Amazing Mountain Getaway

"My husband and I stayed at Elk Hollow from July 3-7. It exceeded our expectations in every way! The home itself is beautifully furnished and includes everything you could want for your stay. As beautiful and comfortable as the home is, it was the extra thoughtful touches of the owners that set this home apart, from the birdseed to feed the birds to the multiple page information letter that let us know everything we need to know about the home to warning us that we needed to stock up on groceries in Artesia to the restaurant recommendations. We especially loved the wrap around balcony porch with views looking down the valley and out across to the mountains. We didn't explore the Cloudcroft area as much as we might have because we were so content just relaxing on the porch. I highly recommend Elk Hollow!"

  • Perfect in Every Way

"We loved Santa Fe! We were so pleased with this casita. It is exactly as described. It was clean and very well maintained. It was very spacious for two people. We tried to find a place to stay, so we could walk everywhere in the city, and this is perfect. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Our manager, Phyllis, was so accommodating and helpful to us. She was always available to help with questions or needs. We took advantage of the very private courtyard for our afternoon cocktails and review of the day’s activities and planning for the next. We could easily walk to Whole Foods, the Railyard, the Plaza, and the many excellent restaurants. We were pleased that during the USA team games in the World Cup, the Railyard put up a giant screen TV and set out chairs free for the crowd. This city is built for pedestrians with signaled crosswalks everywhere. The museums alone will keep you busy for a week. Art and native crafts abound. Our car stayed at the casita most days. We tried to visit all the sites: Las Vegas, NM, Albuquerque, Los Alamos, and the many state and national parks in the area. There was always something to do or something to see. Thank you, Phyllis, you have made this trip one of the most special."

  • Wonderful place!

"My daughter arranged for a 3 night stay - Mom & Daughter vacation! The house is nicely decorated with interesting and fun western art. The owner is EXTREMELY thoughtful of her guests - she knew we were hikers and left lots of trail maps, left us fresh eggs, and the house has: bbq, washer/dryer, cooking, movies. My daughter slept on the futon and it was comfy. You will want to get your groceries when you are in town. There isn't a stove but we used the BBQ and the plug in burner for dinner & breakfast. The steam train was great - we splurged on the first class seats and it was amazing. We saw elk, tons of deer, and antelope from the train. There were many deer - be careful driving at night. There are lots of fish in the local rivers. The house is conveniently located to some beautiful hiking and scenery. Check out Tierra Wools to see weaving, dying, and beautiful tapestries - hand dyed wool yarn - beautiful. And a final note - the owner was helpful, professional with the financial transactions, thoughtful about her guests. She is a gracious host. She gives you complete privacy - and we felt completely comfortable staying at her guest house."

  • Great Place

"We go to Ruidoso often. This was the first time we rented this place and will go again. This place was so clean you could eat off the floor! Description was accurate as were the photo's. It is easy to find and close to all amenities but somewhat seculed and quiet. The size of rooms is very adequate for 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Two items could be better: l) their description of how to get there & 2) Amy is slow to get back to you unless you call her. OVERALL: great place for the money!"
