  • Love this home!!

"We just spent 3 night's in this lovely home.Me and my sister and aunt had a great time.this home is the best equipped home we have ever rented. It has everything anyone could hope for.It was also very homey and comfortable.Great location, and easy access to the road but still felt private and secluded.we will defiantly be renting this home again!! The caretaker Bill was very helpful and took care of all our needs quickly. great experience!"

  • We had a great stay!

"This was the perfect home for my family of two adults and three young children. It is large and clean, well located between the ski valley and town, and offers access to a large pool and small heated "kiddie" pool, both of which we took advantage of during our summer stay. The only thing that would have made our stay better was air conditioning in the house or at least another swamp cooler for downstairs use (it got uncomfortably hot during one week of our stay). If you are serious about cooking during your stay (as we were), I would recommend bringing your own sharp knives and pots and pans--but that's just us and we would probably do that anywhere we stayed. The kitchen certainly had sufficient basics otherwise, and plenty of nice dishware, etc. Overall, a wonderful stay in a great home."

  • A Lovely Authentic, Affordable Adobe Casita in Santa Fe

"I have stayed TWICE at Casita Sombria--in 2013 and 2015--and I enjoyed both visits. This small casita was remodeled, with a lovely bathroom added, and I found it charming and real: authentic adobe walls, beautiful ceiling, brick/tile floors, attractive decor. The bed is very comfortable, the fireplace works, the kitchen is quite complete, and there is a small private lpatio and private parking behind an electronic gate--all in a very safe neighborhood (with helpful owners living in a house in front) a 5-8 minute drive from the plaza. The place was exceptionally clean and for one or two people comfortable and adequate. I recommend it!"

  • Third stay still a charm!

"Happily my husband and I returned for another stay (four nights) in Julianna's comfy, light-filled casita (previously reviewed as Karen172). Too busy to take advantage of the well-equipped kitchen, we ate (also quite happily) every day at the Range Cafe--just a hop, skip, and jump down the alleyway--where the food, atmosphere, and people are great. The Range's Lizard Rodeo Lounge is also a full bar hosting cool music most nights. (A poetry reading had fully packed a back room one evening we were there.) Northern New Mexico is rich with sightseeing opportunities in all directions from Bernalillo, but if you need to work or want to just hang out in the evening, the casita has speedy WiFi and Roku connections. Speaking of connections and speed, the Rail Runner through Bernalillo is a fine way to zip up to Santa Fe, on a route you wouldn't otherwise see. I noticed that one reviewer mentioned that the train disrupted her sleep, but more of us feel the romance in a train's whistle, and truthfully, it doesn't wake me after the first night and I actually miss it. I've already booked another stay (my fourth) later this spring, after I meet up with an old friend in Taos, and can hardly wait. Thanks again, Julianna!"
