  • Quiet and hospitable

"A friend and I stayed in this beautifully restored adobe casita in order to participate in the annual Good Friday pilgrimage to the Santuario in Chimayo. It was a calm and wonderful respite in the evenings--the furnishings are pleasant and comfortable, and the owners have gone to considerable trouble to make the place both historical and charming. This was an ideal headquarters and resting place for us as we traveled in and around Espanola and Chimayo."

  • ...very, very pleased...

"We're two very lively and adventurous seniors who enjoyed our selves tremendously at Julianna's casita. The place is tucked into a sweet little space on a back street in Bernalillo, just off the main street, and just minutes AND worlds from downtown Albuquerque. The place is fresh, airy, pretty, well decorated, and well supplied--even with wifi! A large capacity washer-dryer is steps away. The little courtyard is perfect for wine and reading as the sun sinks. Key, is the easy walking distance to most everything Bernalillo has to offer--restaurant/cafe, saloon (yes, saloon!), small supermarket, a Dollar Store, antique store, thrift store, Catholic and Protestant churches, art gallery, etc--a clean little town,...and if so inclined, it's a quick drive to that other world of gas stations, Walgreen's and Starbucks. A second key is how we utilized the location as a base to explore the countryside and even Albuquerque itself, returning to our snug-a-bug for evening wine and dinner. Julianna was very responsive to our needs...we talked a couple of times on the phone about this or that, and she came right over and showed us what we needed to know. We would certainly recommend the casita to friends and family, and were we to return to NM for a visit, this would be our first choice to stay."

  • Quaint Southwestern Country Getaway

"I spent two weeks at the guest house and the property, as well as the town of Dixon, has hooked me for life. The guest house is nestled on a large lot amidst the hills of northern New Mexico with a rolling creek immediately off the back deck. The sound of the water and gorgeous scenery beyond are nourishing to the soul. This late October and early November revealed brilliant autumn colors in every direction, making the experience even more memorable. The guest house, while seemingly small and simple in the photos, lives large and is well laid out for comfortable dining, lounging and sleeping. Great for one or two people on retreat. The town of Dixon is rich in New Mexican history and is teeming with friendly people, art, a suprisingly well-stocked grocery and an outstanding local cafe. Just a little further away are more activities at the Rio Grande Gorge, Taos and Santa Fe. The hosts are very personable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with, while being respectful of your privacy. I can highly recommend this property to anyone needing to get away from the big city to unwind, reconnect with nature or be close to the action without being right in the middle of it. This was a memorable getaway and I look forward to returning time and again."

  • First visit to Ruidoso

"Our family loved staying here. The property is exactly as promised on this site. All of the rooms were nicely furnished and we had more than enough space. It was our first trip to Ruidoso and we were very glad we picked this location. It is minutes from town - not far, but far enough to be very private. The kids spent a lot of time in the hot tub and we enjoyed watching the deer from the porch every night. Highly recommend!"
