  • Great place to stay in Santa Fe

"We already rented this property twice and were not disappointed. Great location within walking distance from the central plaza, yet quiet and away from it all. We like to go self-catering, and the house has all the amenities we could need. Great terrace with sufficient privacy."

  • Charming, close to Art and the Plaza

"I enjoyed my stay, very cozy, clean and colorful. I liked having the Historic Church for a landmark. One of the paintings in the bedroom was done by an Artist friend of mine who has a gallery on Bent Street. I liked walking my dog all over the place. I would love to come back. Carol"

  • Quaint Southwestern Country Getaway

"I spent two weeks at the guest house and the property, as well as the town of Dixon, has hooked me for life. The guest house is nestled on a large lot amidst the hills of northern New Mexico with a rolling creek immediately off the back deck. The sound of the water and gorgeous scenery beyond are nourishing to the soul. This late October and early November revealed brilliant autumn colors in every direction, making the experience even more memorable. The guest house, while seemingly small and simple in the photos, lives large and is well laid out for comfortable dining, lounging and sleeping. Great for one or two people on retreat. The town of Dixon is rich in New Mexican history and is teeming with friendly people, art, a suprisingly well-stocked grocery and an outstanding local cafe. Just a little further away are more activities at the Rio Grande Gorge, Taos and Santa Fe. The hosts are very personable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with, while being respectful of your privacy. I can highly recommend this property to anyone needing to get away from the big city to unwind, reconnect with nature or be close to the action without being right in the middle of it. This was a memorable getaway and I look forward to returning time and again."

  • A Little Barcelona (Gaudi) in Sante Fe

"We rented the Sante Fe Hobbit House for a week (March 28-April 4, 2015) through VRBO. The occasion was a birthday celebration and included four friends from around the country meeting in this beautiful city. The property was a perfect fit for our group. Our overall rating of the Hobbit House is "Excellent+++++". If you have looked at other comments and photos about the house, you may not believe it can be so beautiful. The property is spectacular and a joy in which to spend time. The house was immaculately clean upon our arrival. There are stacks of clean towels and all the lotions and shampoo/conditioners you can want in the superbly furnished bathrooms. The room arrangement is very comfortable. We spent most of our time in the kitchen working on crossword puzzles and playing games. It is a pleasure to sit at the kitchen/dining room table and enjoy the craftsmanship. The house includes a extremely well-equipped kitchen with all of the tools you need to enjoy home cooked meals. Not only is the kitchen furnished with cooking utensils and coffee makers, but well furnished with cooking oils and spices, etc. It was so nice to arrive late on our first night and see a pound of fresh ground coffee waiting for us so we didn't have to run to the store right away. The back deck is beautiful. The water feature in the backyard made it so inviting. The Hobbit House is in a perfect location. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, but you are only blocks away from groceries (Trader Joe's and Whole Foods) and coffee shops and bakeries. The walk to the plaza is less than 30 minutes along a quiet residential street. A list of recommended restaurants and bakeries nearby is thoughtfully prepared and left for you. If you are just looking for somewhere to "crash", don't rent the Hobbit House. This house is made for relaxation, enjoyment and enrichment in a beautiful environment. We would happily come back and glowingly recommend this property to our friends. Kay, Margaret, Nelda and Janet--March, 2015"
