"The Casita del Lago, perched above where the Chama River empties into Abiquiu Reservoir, across the water from the famous Ghost Ranch, and facing the everchanging colors of miles of scenic rock cliffs that stretch for as far as the eye can see, rewards you with views that are simply awesome, especially as sunset approaches. Many stunning photos can be made just by standing right outside of the Casita and pointing your camera in any direction. The views from inside the house are essentially the same, as framed by the many floor to ceiling windows. Inside the Casita itself is a nice blend of southwestern rustic charm and modern conveniences, with a full kitchen and 2 bedrooms that easily accommodated our party of 4 guests. The road in to the property is rough, and a minor inconvenience to drive, but the seclusion of the location once you arrive more than makes up for the drive in. Our stay was graced with excellent weather 6 of the 7 days, with predictably chilly but clear nights as well. We did lose power one evening for only a couple of seconds, and had to reset some breakers to get everything back running, but it was a trivial interruption to an otherwise perfect stay.
If you are looking for a super scenic and secluded slice of the high NM desert to rent, then a trip to the Casita del Lago will certainly be a great choice!"

"I was impressed with the kitchen and all the cooking gear that was there (including nice pyrex storage containers for left overs). Things felt very clean and cared for. The condo has a great layout and feels bigger than it is. This is the quietest condo complex I have ever seen. Outside it isn't the prettiest, but I wasn't expecting it to be. The whole complex is a few blocks from the highway and you can hear the white noise of traffic at times, but as described it is the best location in that complex for quiet with other buildings blocking the noise. The view is beautiful although the picture of the mountains are a little misleading, since the mountains are not the only view you see (you see the other building and roads). I'm also very sensitive to smells and appreciated some of the care given to have the place be green friendly. I say some because there were some perfume smells (previous guest maybe and scented drier sheets). Overall though, a great value and great experience. Owners are responsive to emails too."

"Our friends' reunion at SkiesofTaos was sublime! No hassles, no problems, beautiful home, lots of room. The house was adorned with artisan love everywhere one looked. A treat for the senses. Forget about the t shirt shops and traffic. Just stay right here and take it all in."

"Gals trip to New Mexico. None of us had been to the area and we really enjoyed our stay. Went there primarily for the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque which everyone should experience once in their lifetime.....it was amazing! The house is situated outside of Santa Fe which made for a good location to travel north and south to other cities. House was very spacious, nicely furnished, beds very comfy, and an awesome view of the mountains."
