  • A very nice home in a very special area !

"My best friend and I recently spent about a month in New Mexico and we were lucky enough to get 5 nights in this home. We would have loved to stay longer but the calendar stays pretty full on this house and for very good reason. The combination of a great home, a very special location, and very friendly and accommodating owners made this one of our favorite vacation rentals ever ! We have stayed in many different VRBO homes and none of them have made the process as easy and enjoyable is this one. We received a great information packet that answers any questions you may have about the place and had very good directions etc,. The house has everything you need to feel like you're right at home. The location of this place is what impressed me the most. There is something special about the 'light' in this area. It's no wonder that so many artists are drawn to this part of New Mexico to paint. The house has an amazing view of the lake just below the mesa, and the distant views in every direction are just awesome ! The color on the cliffs to the north near Ghost Ranch seem to change with the rising and setting sun. Pedernal Mountain (made famous by Georgia O'keeffe) is just south of the house. If you visit during the monsoon season you'll see a few afternoon thunderstorms roll off the mountain and across the lake. A few of the high peaks of the Sangre De Cristo range are even visible on the eastern horizon. Night time brings another treat as the view of the stars and the Milky Way are the clearest that I have ever seen. Santa Fe is only an hour south. Taos and the Rio Grande Gorge just over an hour to the northeast. Many great historic sites like Chaco Canyon and Bandelier are a very easy day trip from this house. But I also recommend taking a couple days to just lay in the hammock under the portal and take in the scenery and the hummingbird show ! Thank you Larry and Laurie for allowing us to make some great memories at this place. I hope we get to come back again sometime and stay even longer !"

  • Wonderful vacation rental!

"My wife and I has a wonderful stay in Santa Fe last October and November at Casa Cielo Azul. The house is roomy and comfortably furnished, with an excellent kitchen. We fixed Thanksgiving dinner for 20 friends! Having many closets, a garage and a large studio were big pluses. The location, walking distance to the Plaza, is convenient to DeVargas Mall, many restaurants, and has easy access to Hyde Park, Bishops Lodge Road and attractions North of Santa Fe, but not on a heavily traveled street. As a bicyclist, I appreciated easy access to many mountain bike trails and road rides, that avoided heavy traffic. The best surprise was the view; from almost every window there are views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, downtown Santa Fe and south to the Cerrillos Hills. The deck is an especially good place to relax, with views of all of downtown Santa Fe. Everything was clean and in good order when we arrived; the cleaning staff was excellent and responsive. Management was helpful and always available if we had questions or needed anything. We booked again for Fall 2014!"

  • Wonderful House

"This was our second visit to Casa Encantada, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The house's design is unique and very comfortable. The large patio has great views and is a wonderful place for lunch, drinks and dinner-probably a bit cool for breakfast. There's a small elevator from the garage up to the main floor which is a big help for luggage and groceries. The house is very well equipped and maintained. Very convenient to the Plaza, but you do need a car."

  • Girls Get Away

"I highly recommend this property. The pictures don't do it justice. It was better than expected. It was clean and highly functional. Really enjoyed riding the bikes in the neighborhood. Chris was quick to respond to any questions I had and easy to work with."
