  • Judi and John from Colorado

"We loved our stay at the Kokopelli! The location is ideal for exploring all of New Mexico's wonders without the sometimes frenetic traffic in Santa Fe. Still, you have a base to visit Taos, explore all the fantastic restaurants and museums in Santa Fe, soak at Ojo Caliente and listen to the coyotes - a truly awesome sound. Our home away from home was comfortable, immaculate, and we loved the art work and the kachinas. John, the chef in the family loved the professional stove and the well-equipped kitchen. Thank you!"

  • A new favorite

"My wife and I visit northern New Mexico once or twice a year and have stayed at inns and lodges in Taos, Santa Fe and several points between. We'd been wanting to have a "high-desert-solitude" experience and because we love the hot springs at Ojo Caliente we found John's and Polly's studio to be quite a "sweet spot." The studio is spacious and airy and presents dramatic views that change with the day's light. It's also well-equipped, and we made use of both the indoor wood stove and the outdoor grill on two of our four nights there (the other two we had dinner in the wine bar at the hot springs, a jewel). With our two dogs we hiked the immediate environs as well the Vista Verde trail above the Rio Grande gorge. At night the desert sky revealed stars we'd never seen before. And we spent plenty of time on the patio with the dogs – normally excitable types who, like us, enjoyed just lying quietly in the sun, taking it all in. We'll be back."

  • Anniversary Travelers

"My wife and I decided to take a little road trip into neighboring New Mexico and came across Ojo Caliente as an off-the-beaten-path place to respite for a while. We were not disappointed in our stay at this wonderful house. The building seems newly constructed, has great views from 3 directions (the owner lives in the house directly to the rear), affords much more privacy than more traditional arrangements, has great furnishings, and the kitchen and bathroom are extremely well stocked with everything a traveler could want. It's a bargain for the price. If we ever have reason to be in the area again we would rent here without hesitation."
