  • Exquisite home; Superb owner; Walk everywhere: restaurants, parks, museums, galleries, Old Town

"Delightful! Casa Roma is better than it looks in the photos. Its lovely, warm ambiance with more than fully equipped kitchen and linens offers an extremely comfortable stay. Even better is the owner David, a terrific guy, who is genuinely interested in his guests' comfort, making certain everything you need or want is available, and responding immediately and completely to any requests. We were treated like visiting dignitaries, with more than all the comforts of home, complete with a personal concierge attuned to our every whim. A Magical experience! David and Casa Roma are off the top of the star rating chart."

  • A very nice home in a very special area !

"My best friend and I recently spent about a month in New Mexico and we were lucky enough to get 5 nights in this home. We would have loved to stay longer but the calendar stays pretty full on this house and for very good reason. The combination of a great home, a very special location, and very friendly and accommodating owners made this one of our favorite vacation rentals ever ! We have stayed in many different VRBO homes and none of them have made the process as easy and enjoyable is this one. We received a great information packet that answers any questions you may have about the place and had very good directions etc,. The house has everything you need to feel like you're right at home. The location of this place is what impressed me the most. There is something special about the 'light' in this area. It's no wonder that so many artists are drawn to this part of New Mexico to paint. The house has an amazing view of the lake just below the mesa, and the distant views in every direction are just awesome ! The color on the cliffs to the north near Ghost Ranch seem to change with the rising and setting sun. Pedernal Mountain (made famous by Georgia O'keeffe) is just south of the house. If you visit during the monsoon season you'll see a few afternoon thunderstorms roll off the mountain and across the lake. A few of the high peaks of the Sangre De Cristo range are even visible on the eastern horizon. Night time brings another treat as the view of the stars and the Milky Way are the clearest that I have ever seen. Santa Fe is only an hour south. Taos and the Rio Grande Gorge just over an hour to the northeast. Many great historic sites like Chaco Canyon and Bandelier are a very easy day trip from this house. But I also recommend taking a couple days to just lay in the hammock under the portal and take in the scenery and the hummingbird show ! Thank you Larry and Laurie for allowing us to make some great memories at this place. I hope we get to come back again sometime and stay even longer !"

  • Perfect little home!

"This house was wonderful. Fully equipped with everything you could even think of needing, a perfect location; close to restaurants, grocery stores, you name it, yet in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. Owner was on hand to answer any questions we had while there. Wouldn't hesitate a moment to stay here again if a trip to Cruces is in the books!"

  • Great spot for a family winter vacation

"Our family of 7 adults and 2 small children spent six nights here. We had a wonderful time and the place was fantastic. We really appreciated all the ammenities - especailly the wood pellet stove, pool table, internet access, and the stunning views. The open layout of the kitchen/dining/living area was great for meals and group activities. The location afforded us a quiet respite for the whole family and a convenient location to the Durango area for skiing, shopping, snowmobiling and the DSNGR station."
