"This was the perfect residence for my recent 6-month stay in Albuquerque. Well-situated in downtown, this condo is only minutes from both of the major interstate highways...which was important to me as I was there for work. A covered, assigned parking spot in the adjacent parking garage kept my car always at the front door.
The condo itself is spacious and well-appointed. It made for a relaxing respite from my work week. An open-plan kitchen, comfortable bed, hot shower and a killer massage chair made "nesting" pleasurable. The Sports and Wellness Club across the street provided an antidote for if and when I might've "nested" a little too much.
The Hyatt and Andaluz Hotels became my extended living rooms, given that each of them are only within one block away. With a multiplex movie theater and the historic Kimo Theater only blocks away, entertainment was not hard to find. The independent bars and restaurants that dot Central Avenue are all within striking distance. In fact, Sunday brunch at the stellar Gold Street Cafe became a weekly ritual.
Downtown Albuquerque feels like it is on the cusp of being discovered. (With a Sprouts grocery store opening soon only two blocks away, I feel that I am not alone in thinking that.)
This condo provides the perfect perch from which to enjoy your urban experience in the desert southwest."

"Loved loved loved this wonderful residence! We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children, ages 8 and 10. This home is so comfortable and so pretty. The location was perfect for all we wanted to do. Very easy access to the square, Kit Carson park and our favorite eateries, Michaels and La Cueva. We also enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen is so well equipped and a fun place for family cook and eat in. We took advantage of a hot air balloon ride with Eske's, our second with them, first for our grandchildren, and white water rafting. All so fun! Can't wait to return and stay at Desert Pearl"

Authentic & beautifully appointed New Mexican retreat; great home base for exploration!
"A wonderful place from which to explore and appreciate the beauty and culture of northern New Mexico, this casita reflects the loving care of its owner. Julia is a thoughtful and considerate host. When my flight to Albuquerque was delayed 8 hours, I phoned Julia to tell her I'd be arriving after dark. To make sure I'd be able to find her place on a moonless night, she hung a string of electric lights at the entrance of the driveway. She emailed me to ask what I liked for breakfasts, before my arrival. Being able to cook and enjoy a real, leisurely breakfast each morning was a treat. If you're a coffee fan, Julia provides perfectly roasted regular and decaf beans which you freshly grind for a truly delicious cup of java. I also found beautiful, ripe tomatoes at a local roadside stand, which were deliciously complemented by fresh basil from Julia's vegetable garden.
It turns out that Nambe is right in the middle of all the sights I wanted to see: Taos, Rio Grande gorge, Espanola, Valle Caldera, Bandelier National Monument, local pueblos, Los Alamos, Santa Fe, SF Opera, and the "santuario" in Chimayo, (just 10 miles away). BTW, make sure you bring your camera. The mountains and sandstone formations of this area are stunning: a geologist's wonderland. It's also an area with some excellent restaurants, well known for authentic New Mexican cuisine.
Bottom line: A+! A great place to restore one's soul and convenient place to stay for any period of time. I've already recommended Julia's casita to friends and plan on returning in the future."

"We enjoyed your lovely cabin so much. The stove was just amazing, as were the numerous personal touches, such as the old photos, the fishing signs, and all the antiques. We appreciated all of the helpful literature and the guidebooks. We were able to listen in to a Michael Martin Murphey concert one evening, which was so nice.
Also, appreciated the bottled water. We fed the birds and critters, and enjoyed the sound of the creek and the beautiful stars at night. Hope that we can return soon.
Important note for those with mobility issues: the lot is on a mountainside, therefore somewhat steep if you go to the fire pit or the hammock. Might be a challenge to get into the claw-foot tub as well. We did not object to the drive up Bitter Creek Road, but were aware of it since we had stayed at the old guest ranch many years ago. People with luxury cars might want to drive something more serviceable. I read some comments about this in other reviews/guest book, so have the proper expectations and you will not be disappointed. It is amazing that a cabin could be so full of charm and is clearly loved by the lucky owners!"
