  • A Most Relaxing Stay

"My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous two month vacation in the summer months of July and August at Casa Ambrosia in beautiful El Rito. We were very sad to leave such a quiet, comfortable space. While working on editing our documentary and writing music, the home provided the perfect place to be creative and to be inspired. Outdoors, the smell of cedar, sagebrush, pinon, and lavendar were intoxicating and inviting. Indoors, we had all the comforts of home - as shown in the photos - and Alicia made sure to stock the home really well with all kinds of supplies in the kitchen and bathroom. She was a wonderful host, answering emails promptly and making sure we were taken care of. The property had much privacy as we rarely saw any neighbours the entire time we were there. Fantastic for enjoying the hot tub, bbq dinners, sunbathing, reading on the porch, and watching the Pleiades meteor shower. Wow. Every morning we were greeted by hummingbirds and we fell asleep to the howl of coyotes. Unforgettable. The electrical storms were even incredible. If you want to be immersed in nature, get away from your routine, be able to just be, then this is the best place to do just that. And you don't need to try hard to let go...in New Mexico it really happens effortlessly. Hard to explain. Wonderful people all around, helpful, kind. It was just a joy to go to restaurants, hike, shop, sightsee, without stress. The location for us was quite perfect as we were about an hour away from both Taos and Santa Fe, both amazing cities with so much to see and do. Ghost Ranch (hiked Chimney Rock and Box Canyon), Lake Abiquiu, Plaza Blanca, the Chama Wilderness, Carson National Forest, and Ojo Caliente (slather on the mud) are all within a 25min drive. The Christ in the Desert Church at the end of the 15mile drive into the Chama Wilderness is well worth exploring, a beautiful energy there. Also, we took Carson forest road #137 which is just out of town and drove up the mountain. Spectacular views, so many dramatic changes in vegetation. As you make your way up, you will see red pines and quaking aspens (take road #20). But you must return the same way you came in. While visiting the Rio Grande Bridge we had lunch at the rest stop which is a trailhead for the West Rim Trail, great for biking/hiking at least 9miles or so. Best Eats: Love Apple (Taos), El Paragua (Espanola), Sabuso's (Arroyo Seco), La Plazuela Cafe (Santa Fe), The Artesian (Ojo Caliente). The most relaxing stay! Thanks Alicia."

  • Summer Escapee

"This was my second summer with Anne and Hampton in their casita, and I enjoyed it even more this summer. Very comfortable place. Beautiful views. Cooler than the valley because of its locations in the hills. Beautiful sunsets. Good privacy. Easy drive to town. Anne and Hampton are great, warm hosts."

  • All of the comforts of home and so much more.

"Our family of six vacationed in Albuquerque this summer to visit family. We really enjoyed the comfort and exquisite amenities this home features. The location of this home is ideal, easily accessible to grocery stores, coffee shops, bike/walking paths, Albuquerque attractions and especially picturesque views! The owners of this home were a pleasure to work with. They were very thoughtful and considerate as well as thorough in the information they provided about their home and the Albuquerque area. Some of our favorite things about this home were the lovely picture windows to observe day and night time views of Albuquerque, absolutely beautiful! My husband and I enjoyed watching storms roll over the Albuquerque skyline. We could not wait to get up and watch the presentation of colors displayed on the mountains, as the sun rose each morning, from one of the impressive patios or deck. In the evening, we enjoyed walking around the serene neighborhood and watching the exquisite sunsets. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the stunning swimming pool. During our stay, our two year old marveled at the fish pond and took great pleasure in feeding the fish with her grandpa. Several varieties of birds ate from the feeders, even a roadrunner stopped by to eat. We enjoyed cooking in the backyard and often ate our evening meals in the dining room as it too had fabulous views of the attractive backyard and mountains. After a visit to New Mexico, you will understand why they call it “The Land of Enchantment.” We would highly recommend this wonderful home to anyone planning a stay in Albuquerque. The property is clean, comfortable and very well maintained. The home had everything we needed and then some. I imagine this home is just as impressive in the winter time. We had a wonderful time in Albuquerque and our family couldn’t have been more pleased with our exceptional accommodations. Our kindest regards to the owners."

  • Cool Streamside Chilling

"I can still hear the sound of the water flowing by the deck while we were dining or enjoying our morning coffee, It was all just as represented and very relaxing. Thank you Lane for your wonderful availability for any questions. An easy drive into the Ski Valley or back into Taos. An ideal location for our purpose and we look forward to our return and hopefully an even longer stay."
