  • First visit to Ruidoso

"Our family loved staying here. The property is exactly as promised on this site. All of the rooms were nicely furnished and we had more than enough space. It was our first trip to Ruidoso and we were very glad we picked this location. It is minutes from town - not far, but far enough to be very private. The kids spent a lot of time in the hot tub and we enjoyed watching the deer from the porch every night. Highly recommend!"

  • Iccredible stay in a wonderful place!

"Last fall when my husband and I made reservations at Casita Des Montes, our intention was to stay for one month and be joined by our friends for two of the weeks. Between fall and our planned April vacation our entire lives changed when my mother had a serious illness and consequently needed to sell her home and move in with us. This move necessitated us selling our home and moving as well. In the end we were only able to spend two of our planned four weeks at the casita. Our experience was unique in all the vrbo rentals in which we have stayed both domestic and abroad. Throughout the many changes in our plans, Linda, the property manager was in frequent contact with us via email. She was very prompt with her responses and incredibly informative and helpful. Upon arrival, Linda introduced us to the casita and gave us tips about the "personality" of the house. One of the best features of our stay was having Linda right there on the property. She is a wealth of great information about the area and if she doesn't know the answer to a question she makes every effort to find out. We liked Linda instantly and invited her over for dinner one night during which we picked her brain mercilessly about Arroyo Seco and it's environs. It was due to her knowledge of the area that we visited several really neat places we had never before been to in spite of numerous vacations in Taos. One of the places we visited was Wild Rivers where the Red and Rio Grande rivers converge. It was beautiful! Another place we went three times was the road from Pilar through the gorge that runs beside the Rio Grande called the Rio Grande del North National Monument. While there we saw two types of ducks none of us had ever seen before as well as all the beautiful scenery. Because we were unable to locate the petroglyphs, Linda took time out of her day and accompanied us on a two and a quarter mile hike during which we witnessed a family of big horn sheep as well as the elusive petroglyphs. The casita was perfect in every way. The kitchen amenities were second to none, including great knives which always seem to be lacking in every other place we have stayed. We definitely intend to return to Casita Des Montes and cannot recommend it highly enough. If you go, you will love the casita, the property, the little town of Arroyo Seco and especially the sunsets over distant mountains. Go ahead, make that reservation, you will not be sorry."

  • Best Vacation!

"Couldn't have been any better! We were worried that the place might be inconvenient for a group consisting of 5 couples. The setup and space was more than enough. Plenty of hot water for the countless number of showers the girls took and enough bathrooms for the guys to avoid ruining them for the girls. Walking distance to the lifts, ski rental shop, and restaurants. Sleds in ski storage closet came in handy as well. Loved the town too. Will definitely be coming back!"

  • Amazing Mountain Getaway

"Very Spacious and Cozy. Do NOT let the 9 miles from Angel Fire deter you from renting this home. The drive to town is so short and beautiful. We have rented in AF before and I have to say that this home is new and much nicer and cleaner than any condo you can rent in town. The home was spacious and compfortable for all of us. Two Adults and three children (11,6,6). It is very clean and feels much larger. The owners of the house were fantastic, making our stay extra enjoyable. The property is very kid friendly and the owner's two dogs were amazing and made us feel at home. We would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone!!! We would give this home and the owners ten stars!"
