  • Wonderful Christmas in Santa Fe

"We've been talking about spending Christmas in Santa Fe for years, and this year finally decided to do it. We rented this lovely casita and were so happy we did. Decorated in charming cast-offs, southwest-inspired fabrics and original art, this adorable, cosy place was the perfect size for two adults, and our dog. It has all the necessary mod-cons, including a dishwasher, a washer/dryer, a nicely equipped kitchen (with an electric tea kettle!) and two wood-burning fireplaces (note: be sure to push the grate all the way to the back of the fireplace, or you'll set off the smoke alarm, which we did ;-( The location is spectacular. We walked everywhere; to the plaza, to Canyon Road, to the rail-yard area (kind of a schlep but invigorating!) The off-street parking was very appreciated, especially since it was snowing when we arrived and parking on the street to unload would have been a chore, and possibly dangerous. The Casa also features a charming fenced in yard (which our dog appreciated) and a lovely veranda (which weather did not permit us to use, but looks very inviting.) The only quibble I have involves entertainment. We arrived with a stack of our favorite Christmas movies, only to discover there was no way to view them as there is no DVD player. The unit does have broadband cable, but it is very limited (no movie channels.) So unless you are content to watch old episodes of "Hoarders," or "Love It Or List It" (with many commercial breaks) be sure to pack a lot of reading material. Other than this, it was a fantastic experience and I certainly hope we can return in the future."

  • Nice Mansion Ridge Hideawy

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Mansion Ridge Hideaway for my husband's 50th birthday surprise getaway. What a nice, comfortable and clean place to stay in a quite neighborhood. It is very close to the square but also a short drive to the ski resort. Plenty of room for three couples plus there was another bedroom with two twin beds for either a single person or two single people. There are fireplaces in all the bedrooms and one that was between the dining room and living room that added a nice touch. The dining room table seated eight. The radiant flooring kept us warm especially because of all the tile in the house. The kitchen had plenty of cooking utensils for our meals including some oils, herbs and salt/pepper. The property is an older one but has been kept up. We would definitely stay there again."

  • Beautiful house

"Beautiful house and property. First class in every way. Close to town but gives the feeling of seclusion. Scott and Maika are the best property managers in Santa Fe."

  • Perfect Home Away From Home

"My comments about this casita would echo those of previous reviewers. The casita was spotlessly clean, very well appointed, roomy with two patios, and has an excellent location in a lovely, safe neighborhood. We were impressed also with the quality and taste of the art work and décor. The only suggestions I would make would be regarding the fireplace and the bed. We arrived on a snowy night and wanted to have a fire. There was no paper, nor kindling and the starter lighter didn't work. The logs themselves were not enough to successfully ignite with matches. Also, the bed, while extremely comfortable for me, was way too soft and cushy for my husband, which caused him to have hip pain for the entire stay. Overall, though, I would highly recommend this casita to anyone wanting to experience Santa Fe in the comfort of "your own home away from home.""
