"Our second stay in the last 24 months in this wonderful pied-à-terre in Santa Fe. This unit is as advertised; clean, comfortable and charming in every way. The crew in the gallery are most helpful if needed.
Despite the centrality of the location in the middle of the Canyon Road gallery and restaurant district we have both noted the quiet late evenings and the ability to forget about big city distractions and simply enjoy the sublime elegance that is a cool Fall day in the high mountain climate of Santa Fe."

"This casita is tucked away about a half mile from the Canyon Road art gallery row, not far off the Plaza, in an ancient part of the city. The casita itself is cosy, surrounded by a spectacular garden, and had an amazing amount of light for a Pueblo-style house. My husband and I were constantly trying to "turn off" the light streaming into the bathroom from the skylight. ;-) The rooms were nicely furnished and decorated with handmade quilts, which I really enjoyed. The owners were nearby and Ken came immediately to follow up when we had a small mishap, even though it was 10:30 at night! We were very grateful for his diligence and follow-through. Do not hesitate to book the Acequia Madre Casita. It's the perfect place for art lovers!"

"Last June was my third time staying there - I've appreciated it more and more each year. It is an oasis of solitude and Old Santa Fe just a 10-minute walk from the Plaza. It has a very nice room and adjoining small guest room in the basement plus the upper bedroom, living room, and kitchen, and nice space in the garden. The owners are wonderful. This was perfect for my writing, music, hiking and vacation routine while there. Everything is clean and comfortable. I hope to keep coming back every year."

"We spent 4 1/2 months living in this lovely casita during the fall/winter of 2014-15. The location was ideal for us. Access to the Dale Ball trail system is at the back gate of the compound, and we hiked the Dorothy Stewart trail almost daily. Canyon Road is a short walk from the front gate, and the Plaza was only half an hour's walk away. We rarely used our car!
The casita is in a compound that consists of the owner's house at the top of the driveway, a duplex vacation rental half-way down, and then this casita, tucked away at the bottom of the driveway. It is very quiet. No road noise at all. All you hear in the morning are the birds. And it has a very private feeling. On warm mornings we sat outside and drank our coffee on the portal in front of the house and felt as though we had the place to ourselves. It was delightful.
Inside, the casita is comfortable and very completely furnished with everything you need for your stay. There are special touches - fossils embedded here and there in the plaster walls, decorative tile in the bathroom, nichos, the fireplace. The decor is in the traditional northern New Mexican style, with all its warmth and charm. The open floor plan makes the casuist feel spacious, and the in-floor heating kept us warm even on the coldest nights. The mattress was very comfortable, the water pressure good for showers, and there was plenty of hot water for soaks in the tub.
We love to cook and used the well laid out and well-equipped kitchen to prepare delightful meals. The big fridge and large pantry cupboard allowed us to store plenty of food supplies. The huge beautiful solid wood dining table accommodated gatherings with our Santa Fe family and friends. The casita has lots of storage space - the walk-in closet in the bedroom is like its own little room! - and so the living spaces stay uncluttered with your personal belongings.
The owner truly wants to make your stay pleasant and comfortable, and is very responsive to guests' requests. Her two friendly dogs don't intrude on guests at all, and are very sweet to greet when you walk into the compound.
This casita offered the best of Santa Fe for us - a pleasant and comfortable interior environment set in a location that offered access to hiking, cultural activities and venues, and coffee shops, bookstores, and restaurants. We couldn't recommend it more highly for your Santa Fe stay."
