  • Wonderful casa

"This is our second time to stay at Casa de la Fuente and it was all we could ask for and more. Such a lovely home filled with everything we need and in a great location, close to the rail yard and the Plaza. We love Santa Fe and staying in a home makes being there even more enjoyable . This home is very comfortable with lots of Santa Fe charm, and has a great patio and garden to enjoy as well. The owners really care about the comfort of their guests. Thank you, Mary and Jack, for such a very special experience. You are the best."

  • comfortable stay for a large group

"Casa Soulfood worked very well for our stay. We rented both the house and the casita so there was plenty of room for our group. The kitchen is roomy and well equipped. One very large room at the center of the house comprises the living, dining and kitchen areas; plenty of room to hang out together. The bedrooms are separate and private. The bathrooms all have lovely slate tiles. The 1st floor bath is small and has a shower only; the other 3 baths are larger and have whirlpool tubs. There is a spacious patio as well as several decks to enjoy the views. We sat outside at night and enjoyed a fire while listening to the coyotes howl. The heat was difficult to maintain on the first floor. The floor is concrete so it's cold. The 1st floor bedrooms were cold and the master was hot. A fire in the kiva helped heat the living room. The house was clean, but the casita has an ant problem. The kitchen especially needs some maintenance. Some appliances didn't work properly, drawers are broken, etc. There are 12 steps to get into the house; the driveway and surrounding area are unpaved and rocky. Not for people who have difficulty walking. Overall, a very pleasant and comfortable accommodation for a large group."

  • Best VRBO Ever

"My wife, two young children and I loved this place. We actually stayed here twice in one month. A fast 20 minute drive north of old Santa Fe, the Casita provided exactly what our family needed, a rural setting within minutes of the city. Comfortable, affordable, clean, privacy, farm animals the children could feed, mountain views, around the corner from a nice winery and tasting room and the nicest owners you could hope for! We would stay here again in a heartbeat and already have!"

  • Good location and nice unit

"Overall our stay with two children was a very good experience. The unit was very tastefully decorated and supplied with ample linens, cooking utensils, plates and glasses but could use more plastic cups for small children to use. There are also a good selection of books and music CDs along with lots of firewood although the wood was green and needed a few more months of seasoning to burn properly in the kiva. The radiant floor heating kept the place very comfortable during our stay in March as there was still snow on the ground in places. The small "library nook" was an excellent place to read or watch TV, but the couch was the only comfortable place to sit in the main living area and unfortunately oriented with its back to windows and thus missing the beautiful view of the city and mountains. Likewise, the outside patio has one comfortable lounger but the other chairs were missing cushions, again, making seating for more than one or two people not very relaxing. We used the outdoor grill once and it was in very good condition, relatively clean (for a grill) and worked just fine. The location on the hill offers wonderful views and a quiet retreat from the city but the walk back from town may be a challenge for seniors or persons with disabilities. So a good place for 1-2 fit adults and 1-2 children but before we return we'd like to see more comfortable seating in the living and patio areas, and reorientation of the living seating to take in the views."
