"We stayed at the Artist Retreat the week before Christmas. I was a little nervous sending payment before seeing the house, but the pictures are all accurate and it is even better in person! We have a vacation home in another state and I have to say the owners have certainly thought about everything you might need when staying in this home! In fact, I wished I could transport this home to our location I loved it so much! It was a terrific layout for multiple generations; the attached (lower level)apartment was great for our college kids and gave them some space and privacy and us a break when needed! Our parents had a room of their own and my husband and I took the master suite (Awesome!). The only regret was that the weather was not warmer so we could enjoy the patio off the master, but the views were terrific from upstairs and the outside patio with see thru fireplace was a wonderful treat for the outside. This fireplace really put off some heat inside and out, unlike some that are just for looks. The in-floor radiant heat was a wonderful way to heat the condo, I was worried that with all the windows it could be cold in the winter. Not so, in fact we never needed to adjust the heat! We cooked in all but one night and had everything we needed for meal prep, and ran to Trader Joes and Albertson's for food. The guidebook Sandra and Justin provided gave you all of the details needed, and walking into the plaza was a short walk (uphill partway on the way back) but very easy walk. I would love to return to this home in another season, and know you will enjoy! I would rent any of their properties when returning to Santa Fe!"

"We spent 4 1/2 months living in this lovely casita during the fall/winter of 2014-15. The location was ideal for us. Access to the Dale Ball trail system is at the back gate of the compound, and we hiked the Dorothy Stewart trail almost daily. Canyon Road is a short walk from the front gate, and the Plaza was only half an hour's walk away. We rarely used our car!
The casita is in a compound that consists of the owner's house at the top of the driveway, a duplex vacation rental half-way down, and then this casita, tucked away at the bottom of the driveway. It is very quiet. No road noise at all. All you hear in the morning are the birds. And it has a very private feeling. On warm mornings we sat outside and drank our coffee on the portal in front of the house and felt as though we had the place to ourselves. It was delightful.
Inside, the casita is comfortable and very completely furnished with everything you need for your stay. There are special touches - fossils embedded here and there in the plaster walls, decorative tile in the bathroom, nichos, the fireplace. The decor is in the traditional northern New Mexican style, with all its warmth and charm. The open floor plan makes the casuist feel spacious, and the in-floor heating kept us warm even on the coldest nights. The mattress was very comfortable, the water pressure good for showers, and there was plenty of hot water for soaks in the tub.
We love to cook and used the well laid out and well-equipped kitchen to prepare delightful meals. The big fridge and large pantry cupboard allowed us to store plenty of food supplies. The huge beautiful solid wood dining table accommodated gatherings with our Santa Fe family and friends. The casita has lots of storage space - the walk-in closet in the bedroom is like its own little room! - and so the living spaces stay uncluttered with your personal belongings.
The owner truly wants to make your stay pleasant and comfortable, and is very responsive to guests' requests. Her two friendly dogs don't intrude on guests at all, and are very sweet to greet when you walk into the compound.
This casita offered the best of Santa Fe for us - a pleasant and comfortable interior environment set in a location that offered access to hiking, cultural activities and venues, and coffee shops, bookstores, and restaurants. We couldn't recommend it more highly for your Santa Fe stay."

"This charming storybook cabin offers a magical retreat that aptly confirms New Mexico as the true "Land of Enchantment." After daily excursions to places such as Bandelier, nearby pueblos, or the museums, shops, restaurants, and art galleries of Taos and Santa Fe, we always looked forward to the comfort and quiet of this beautiful cabin. Constructed of found and repurposed materials, decorated with Navajo rugs, art work, and comfortable furniture, it reflects the creativity, imagination, and good taste of the owners. We look forward to another visit and would highly recommended it as a vacation destination."

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We loved this charming little house with beautiful tilework, leather furniture and well-equipped kitchen. And despite being near the heart of town, it was very quiet and near a lovely stream-side walk. Our only complaint was that the king-size mattress sagged badly such that sleep was a problem. Also, the oven control didn't work, so the oven was stuck on 350 degrees whenever it was used."
