  • A great way to inhabit vs visit Taos

"I won't repeat many of the great things other reviewers have said -- all of which are true about the house and its amenities. I just spent one week here with a couple of friends and we loved every square inch of this place. I particularly appreciated being outside of Taos proper. The quiet here is not to be believed, and you need only spend one evening out in the hammock star gazing and you'll be hooked! I'm so glad we chose this home and thank you for all of the comforts it offered. This place is a gem! The owner is very responsive, and I appreciated our communication pre-arrival. You'll wish this place was yours...."

  • Paradise in the high desert

"My husband and I love New Mexico and only recently discovered this charming getaway. The adobe casita was built by a well-known architect. His wife collects fabulous folk art and you notice the displays in niches, nooks or under tables. I love the crow pillows she paints in her studio across the street. When you stay here you forget about cells and email. It's a place we want to visit every summer. We cook most meals and drink martinis on the porch. We love walking to town, visiting the churches, driving to Arroyo Seco where Abe's Cantina and the Taos Cow are located. Last year we drove to the Ghost Village and climbed to the top of the ridge. We also spent a day basking in mud baths at Ojo Caliente. The hatch chilies are a quick find, and we made chicken enchiladas one night. There is down time just sitting outside, reading and taking in the lush gardens and outdoor folk art. I'm ready for my Taos fix at Casa de Los Abuelos!"

  • A beautiful home in a beautiful place

"The property is close to the center of Taos and is conveniently located, and yet feels very private and secluded. The home is surrounded by a large deck and the yard is nicely landscaped with two large and beautiful willow trees. The home itself is lovely, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It stays very cool in the summer even without air conditioner. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, and the is internet as well as washer/dryer and a hot tub. It is also very nice that the house is pet-friendly. We especially loved the large window seats in two of the rooms, and the french doors that open to the yard, providing fresh air and a nice breeze. Everything was very clean and well organized when we got there. There was information about local attractions. Overall, this was a great experience. We expect to be back."

  • Just What We Wanted

"We just spent four days at this delightful place and couldn't be more satisfied. Sally was the perfect host, helpful, friendly, and available without disturbing our privacy. The home was fantastic equipped with everything you could possibly need. It's beautiful, spacious, and immaculately clean. We felt so comfortable there we never wanted to leave. It's peacefully quiet with gorgeous scenery. We based our dual sport motorcycle rides from the property and enjoyed all of them. It's close enough to Taos to enjoy its offerings but far enough away to avoid the traffic. Overall it was a lovely place to stay and we hope we can go back again."
