  • Nido del Rio--center of exploration and relaxation

"We are repeat customers at the Nido--two weeks last year and nearly three weeks this year. It is a very comfortable home set in a laid-back, rural environment, surrounded by a small orchard. While isolated, it is an easy drive to locations such as the Rio Grande del Norte National monument, Bandelier National Monument, Ghost Ranch, and the galleries and museums in Taos and Santa Fe. Hiking, Fishing, rafting, and dining opportunities abound. The small coop in nearby Dixon can fill most of your grocery needs and the local wineries and brewery produce excellent libations. Add in a varied but generally agreeable spring climate in northern New Mexico, it all sums up to a relaxing and inspirational respite from day to day affairs."

  • Feels Like Home to Me

"Lovely little place in a great location. Every day we took a walk to the plaza. It's very comfortable with a front and back patio and even though it shares it's outside walls with the next door houses it feels private. The little plaza is secluded and feels very safe. One of the neighbors has lots of kitties and now that we're gone we miss them! We did have trouble with the altitude, but not not everyone will. We spent all of August in this little adobe and it was perfect for us."

  • Such a relaxing stay in a beautiful casita

"Barbara, Charlie and I stayed at Casita Montoya on the 7th and 8th of September. We had a literally wonderful time! The Casita was so relaxing. And, for the first time (because of the cool weather) Charlie felt free to roam in the yard. We probably missed many tourist attractions because of the comfort of the Casita, but that was what we needed."

  • Magical Experience

"My husband and I stayed here for five nights. Highlights: Fresh cut elk steak delivered to us by the owner Garrett. Amazing! A magical hike right above the cabin with not another hiker in sight, listening for elk bulls bugling (sp?) and female elk mewing (sp?). Scat from elk, deer and bear on the trail. Pair of coyotes crossing the road below the cabin. Wonderful birds including a coopers hawk. Well equipped cabin. Comfortable for a romantic get away. Historic Taos is 10 minute away. You will literally think that you are all alone with the beauty of nature in the remote Taos deep forest. The earthship is a unique and wonderful experience. Description is very accurate. I would and will rent here again and again and again. Love this unique and magical find."
