"I have had the pleasure of visiting the Ojo Caliente/Abiquiu area a few times, but on this trip my daughter (who is a teacher and single parent) and I wanted to enjoy some R&R, soak in the Springs, and hike. The Adobe fit the bill and provided a quiet respite in the mornings and evenings. We enjoyed the well-appointed studio, the restful flute music CD provided, and the views. We ate breakfast each morning on the patio as we watched birds and enjoyed the serenity. Each day we looked forward to returning to this quiet oasis adjacent to the national forest. I would highly recommend John and Polly's little slice of heaven to other mothers and daughters, couples or friends. All in all, it was an idyllic experience that I would love to repeat! Thanks to the gracious owners who found a necklace I left and are returning it to me! Thank you for excellent hospitality!"

"Our group had 4 adults and 2 kids and the split floorplan worked great for our group. We put the kids in a room off the lower living room so when they went to bed each night the adults would move to the upper living room and not have to worry about being noisy. The house is really cozy, comfortable and welcoming and the photos don't do it justice. It was bigger than I expected, too. The front deck is large and gets afternoon sun so we spent some nice afternoons hanging out there enjoying the view before the temperature drop at sunset drove us back inside.
We went to Ski Apache to play in the snow one day and to White Sands another day which was a bit of a drive but easily doable as a day trip. The town of Ruidoso had some cute shops and a great pizza place called Cafe Rio. The house is fairly close to town and we saw a ton of deer on our drives in. Also saw a lot of woodpeckers and other birds around the house.
The area is really quiet and while many of the neighbors had dogs, I only heard barking once (and it didn't last long). The owner was great and checked in with us throughout our visit to see if we needed anything. If we visit Ruidoso again, I would definitely stay here again."

"This was our first month long visit to Las Cruces and we found this clean and comfortable home quiet, spacious and very relaxing. The master bedroom was the only one we used and the bed was very comfy and cozy warm. The well equipped and supplied kitchen provided everything we could possibly need to make our meals. Laundry facilities were super and I was delighted to find that I could hang our clothes in the coat closet to dry in just a few hours, not even needing the dryer. We used the pellet stove when nights were chilly for cozy movie viewing. TV stations were limited, but we enjoyed those available and could watch others on our ipad. Internet router sometimes needed to be restarted.
The host provided a basketful of tourism literature, providing us with more ideas than we had time to use. We hiked in the Picacho mountains right behind the house on many days and also enjoyed Soledad Canyon, Aguirre Springs, and Dinosaur Tracks National Monument, all close by. We also took day trips to White Sands and other delightful destinations in SW New Mexico. We couldn't have been more delighted with the beautiful weather. Mornings required a sweater or light jacket but by each afternoon the temperature climbed to the 60's and 70's which was a delight. This was a very positive winter get-away experience."

"Casa de Paiz is an exceptional vacation rental. Located a short drive from Albuquerque, the home is nestled in the hills in scenic--and peaceful--surroundings that offer an amazing view of the night sky. The patio, gardens, and koi pond simply add to the serenity. There's plenty of area to walk and discover nature. The home itself is immaculate. Every detail has been considered--live plants in every room, a well-maintained kitchen, comfortable den, tourist brochures, a notebook with helpful information--and many other additions not often found in vacation rentals. The owner(s) was extremely accommodating and gracious. It is obvious that the owner(s) considers Casa de Paiz not just a vacation rental property but a home. The next time we visit the Albuquerque area we will arrange our schedule so that we can stay at Casa de Paiz. We highly recommend it."
