"What a wonderful week. My wife and I have been coming here every year except two for 27 years. The house was great. Very comfortable, great views, which is one of my big deciding factors on renting. Everything we needed was supplied, from necessities to cooking wares. We eat out out at lunch but usually dine in at night. We've never stayed the same place twice but this will probably be the exception. Great location, great home."

"I have had the pleasure of visiting the Ojo Caliente/Abiquiu area a few times, but on this trip my daughter (who is a teacher and single parent) and I wanted to enjoy some R&R, soak in the Springs, and hike. The Adobe fit the bill and provided a quiet respite in the mornings and evenings. We enjoyed the well-appointed studio, the restful flute music CD provided, and the views. We ate breakfast each morning on the patio as we watched birds and enjoyed the serenity. Each day we looked forward to returning to this quiet oasis adjacent to the national forest. I would highly recommend John and Polly's little slice of heaven to other mothers and daughters, couples or friends. All in all, it was an idyllic experience that I would love to repeat! Thanks to the gracious owners who found a necklace I left and are returning it to me! Thank you for excellent hospitality!"

"Our family had the pleasure of returning to Albuquerque and we were thrilled that we could stay in this incredible home once again. Truthfully, we can't imagine staying anywhere else, even with the over 150 choices on "HomeAway''s" website. The homeowners are extremely kind and thoughtful! The house has everything you would need and more, with it being extremely well maintained. The beds and pillows are very comfortable! The views are spectacular from every view of the home! Our family loves the layout of the home and it's charm! We ate breakfast outside on the back patio by the fishpond and our lunches by the pool. Personally, one of my favorite things to do at this home, is not to sleep in but get up early to enjoy coffee on their magnificent deck and watch the sun come over the Sandia Mountains-it never gets old! We also enjoyed leisurely walks around the serene neighborhood, taking in more breathtaking views. There are bicycles you can borrow, helmets too, and get in a great ride around the neighborhood or hop on the bike path, a short distance away. There is so much to see and do in Albuquerque and there are restaurants galore with amazing food, but you could just stay put in this home and be perfectly content.
Our warmest regards to the homeowners for having us!"

"Our group had 4 adults and 2 kids and the split floorplan worked great for our group. We put the kids in a room off the lower living room so when they went to bed each night the adults would move to the upper living room and not have to worry about being noisy. The house is really cozy, comfortable and welcoming and the photos don't do it justice. It was bigger than I expected, too. The front deck is large and gets afternoon sun so we spent some nice afternoons hanging out there enjoying the view before the temperature drop at sunset drove us back inside.
We went to Ski Apache to play in the snow one day and to White Sands another day which was a bit of a drive but easily doable as a day trip. The town of Ruidoso had some cute shops and a great pizza place called Cafe Rio. The house is fairly close to town and we saw a ton of deer on our drives in. Also saw a lot of woodpeckers and other birds around the house.
The area is really quiet and while many of the neighbors had dogs, I only heard barking once (and it didn't last long). The owner was great and checked in with us throughout our visit to see if we needed anything. If we visit Ruidoso again, I would definitely stay here again."
