"Our stay at Vista De Lago was a peaceful escape from the rush of life. Our one full day was an introvert's joy. We spent the hours reading books, bird-watching, (there was a family of birds nesting on the front door sconce) and taking in the gorgeous view. There were unexpected surprises--a lovely tea kettle included. The bedrooms were well appointed with their large windows framing Pedernal, and the expensive glass doors provided a flood of natural lighting. The fire pit was a fun space to gather around, and to stargaze after it got dark. The owners were very kind and easy to work with when booking. We plan to return to this magical abode."

"If you are the type of person who needs to be "connected" at all times, this cabin is not for you. If you are looking for a cozy and peaceful getaway, read on. At 8700 feet up in the Jemez Mountains, wifi is hard to find; but, who needs it when you stay at the Alpaca Barnhaus. The house is fully stocked with plenty of things to keep you busy when not out exploring (books, games, movies, alpacas, dogs...).
Mickey, Evelyn, Tink & Bella are the perfect hosts. The alpacas are adorable (they don't like to be petted). If you follow all the rules, you can work with them. The house is cozy and there wasn't anything missing that we wanted or needed. Be sure to check out the items available at the shop.
The house is convenient to the surrounding mountains with plenty of sightseeing, hiking and springs.
Our GPS (2015 Honda map) directions were spot on for getting us there. The 3 mile dirt road can be a little rough. Make sure you get gas in either Los Alamos or Jemez Pueblo. There is a little store (Amanda's) that is not far from the Barnhaus; but, because of the location, the prices are high.
My family had a wonderful time at the Alpaca Barnhaus and definitely recommend it!!!"

"Rented this property for a family vacation - plenty of room for eight adults, young and old. Easy walking distance to downtown Santa Fe restaurants, museums, and galleries (especially nice since parking is difficult downtown). Plenty of room to spread out and relax - basement pool table and enclosed sunny backyard were big hits with the younger crowd."

"The Canons Cabin was clean and well-appointed, with gracious hosts, and absolutely beautiful surroundings. We appreciated the little homey touches, such as nice quilts and interesting artwork on the walls. Already looking for dates for our next visit. As seasoned NM travelers, we were looking to be off the beaten path, but within comfortable driving distance (an hour, or so) of some of the more popular Northern New Mexico spots, in case we wanted dinner in Chimayo or to wander the plaza in Santa Fe. This little cabin fit the bill perfectly. We drove the beautiful forest roads north of Gallina, headed up to the Ghost Ranch area and explored the Echo Amphitheater, attended feast day dances at the Pueblo Ohkay Owinge (highlight of the trip by far), ate a pretty good pizza from Mamacita's, devoured delicious green chile burgers at Papa Joe's in Gallina, had wonderful meals at La Cocina in Espanola, Rancho de Chimayo, and the Plaza Cafe in Santa Fe. We also visited Napoleon Garcia, the Storyteller, on the Abiquiu plaza, and spent our early mornings and sunsets sitting on the porch of the cabin, overlooking the quiet little village and beautiful scenery. A wonderful visit. Thank you Gracie and Felix!"
