  • Could not have been better!

"I had the pleasure of staying in this little casita for two weeks this fall. The house was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen was completely equipped, and there was even a laundry room with washer and dryer. The thick adobe walls of this old house created a feeling of security, safety and comfort. Even though the house is nearly 100 years old, it is well maintained and obviously loved, having been in the family for generations. The location was quiet, nestled near the Rio Grande and surrounded by mountains; yet it was relatively close to urban centers as well (Espanola, Taos, Santa Fe). Tom and his wife were warm, friendly hosts and made our stay there special -- for example, our very first discovery upon entering the house was a plate of freshly picked tomatoes and grapes from their garden! They gave us all the time, space and privacy we needed yet were always available to answer any questions we had. Tom even took the time to introduce us to some of his artistic neighbors and to show us some of the sights in the area. By the time we left, I felt we had made new friends. This is definitely a place I will visit again."

  • Perfect getaway for some peace and serenity!

"We spent 3 nights at the charming Nambe Country Retreat and couldn't have been happier with our choice! Julia's attention to detail throughout the Casita gave us everything we needed for a relaxing first visit to the Santa Fe area, and much more! Julia went out of her way to set lighting out near her driveway knowing we were arriving after dark. From having breakfast items provided for the length of our stay to a full load of wood for a cozy fire each night we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Casita is located just north of Santa Fe, and a perfect home base to explore the many beautiful treasures that New Mexico has to offer. We spent a day each in Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Taos on this trip but could have seen much more if we had a longer visit! There is a beautiful view of the sunset over the mountains from the main windows and porch of the Casita. The Queen bed is very comfy and the kitchen is fully stocked with all the items needed to eat in. There is also a washer and dryer available! This retreat is perfect for any two-some who treasures down time from the normal hectic life and wants to explore the culture and history of beautiful New Mexico! We are not gamblers but if you are there are several casinos between the Casita and Santa Fe. If you are a pet lover, Julia's puppy and a few cats will tuck you in at night and greet you in the morning! Overall, a wonderful place to stay, made easy by a wonderful owner! We hope to return to see what we missed and we will definitely stay at Julia's Nambe Country Retreat!"

  • Clean, modern, attractive, excellent location -- a great value overall

"I stayed here for 5 nights in early May with a group of 6 women, and it was ideal for us. Plenty of space in every way -- bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining -- and so clean and comfortable as to satisfy even the pickiest people in our group. When you look at the price of hotel rooms in downtown Santa Fe, this place is an amazing bargain. We walked downtown for several dinners (Cafe Pasqual's and La Casa Sena were two favorites) and drove to the top of Canyon Road for an evening at El Farol. We also really enjoyed the Tesuque flea market, hiking at Bandelier and Tsankawi Mesa, and exploring the many museums and art galleries downtown. The shopping was world-class! Santa Fe is one of my favorite vacation destinations, and I have stayed out at the Bishop's Lodge resort, downtown at a B&B, and downtown at La Posada in the past. For a group trip, if you want great access to downtown and enjoy a little walking, this house is the best option by far."

  • Wonderful!

"We just got back from a great stay at Casita Linda! Everything was just wonderful! The casita is cozy and welcoming. We so enjoyed the hummingbirds and seeing stars at night. It was so quiet and restful it was hard to leave at all to do anything else. Thank you Debbie - we will be back!"
