  • Perfect little cabin!!!

"My husband and I stayed in this lovely cabin for 2 days. We wished we could have stayed longer. The interior of the cabin is so cozy. It is so close to town that you can walk everywhere but you can't hear all the traffic or people. Its very peaceful. We will definitely try to reserve this cabin again next fall."

  • Enchanting Camp Little Pine

"I usually keep my favorite places to myself, but I have to share with you a great souvenir of our journey at Camp Little Pine to give credit where credit is due. For the last 5 years, we rented different houses and lodges at Lake Placid to ski at Whiteface Mountain with the family. No words can describe the breathtaking beauty of the environment at Camp Little Pine. We were anxious to come back after our ski day to gather around the fireplace. Both spacious and cosy, the property definitely met all of our expectations, not to mention the incredible decoration that made our stay even more enjoyable. One evening, we took a 5 minutes’ walk to the Lake Placid Lodge “Relais et Chateaux”. It was enchanting –the starry sky, the whiteness of the snow and an apero at the Maggie’s Pub! We look forward to come back in order to live another magical moment."

  • Loved it so much we already booked it again!

"My husband and I came to Old Forge for our first time, along with our four children (ages 3-9), for a snowmobile weekend. Barb and Doug met us at the house upon arrival and my first impression of anything is that these folks are two of the kindest, most accommodating and helpful people I've ever met; the kind of people you would love to have in your own family. As for the home - I fell in love immediately. Its so beautiful and so charming, so many lovely details that you only find in a home this age. There is nothing 'modern' about the architecture or style, which is precisely the appeal. You feel like you're back in time, from the beautiful wallpaper to the gorgeous wood trim and details; the glass and brass doorknobs, the hard word flooring and beautiful wood built-ins. People who own homes like this tend to live in them, preserve them, and rarely share their beauty. Barb and Doug open their home to guests lucky enough to find the time to visit. Our children loved the home and were enamored with endless 'hide-n-seek' possibilities; none of us wanted to leave... so the day after we arrived home we booked another weekend! One last comment, and I've read several of the same - the house is SPOTLESS. I mean to say, I walked around in light blue and white socks for 4 days and there was not a hint of dirt on any of my socks - MY SOCKS!!! I don't even know how that's possible! So if you're looking for cleanliness, comfort, charm... a place where you KNOW you want to go back to as soon as you can... THIS is your place! Thank you Doug and Barb, it was a pleasure and we look forward to staying in your beautiful home again!"

  • Relaxing Home Away from Home

"I spent a ski weekend with two teenagers, and we all had a wonderful time. This townhouse is warm, inviting, and very clean. It was also very quiet during our stay at the end of February. The kitchen is fully equipped, and Gore Mountain is just minutes away. Bob is an excellent owner and his concern for comfort is unmatched. We'll definitely return!"

Au Sable Forks Travel Tips

Travel to Your Outdoor Paradise with Au Sable Forks Vacation Rentals

Au Sable Forks, located in the stunning Adirondack Mountains, is a secluded little spot—perfect for an outdoor vacation where you want to be surrounded by nature, and not a gaggle of other tourists. Skip the crowded hotel and enjoy your Au Sable Forks lodging free of strangers who are watching TV in the next room over. You could stay in your own private cabin surrounded by the peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. You can enjoy the outdoors as much from your secluded cabin as you can during your daytime activities.

Activities for the Novice and the Expert

Adirondack Mountains cabins are so popular because the area provides outdoor recreation both for the novice and for the expert. Perhaps you like the thrill and danger of extreme ice climbing in the winter or whitewater kayaking. Both these activities are popular in the Adirondack Mountains. Perhaps you simply want to get close to nature. Rent a kayak or canoe and paddle out onto one of the nearby lakes or take a short hike through the beautiful woods.

Au Sable Forks vacation rentals will place you close to Lake Placid, a popular destination for many reasons. The serene waters are surrounded by gorgeous forested country. Hunting and fishing are allowed in the area, but there are often tight restrictions. However, these restrictions are responsible for the highly stocked streams and lakes, and the abundance of wild game in the area.

Relax in the Privacy of Your Backyard

Au Sable Forks lodging will provide you with peace and privacy, along with the room to enjoy it. Bring a pair of binoculars and bird watch from your back porch or backyard. There are many different kinds of birds that frequent the Adirondack Mountains, and you can see many of them from your cabin. Watch the sunrise or sunset, prepare a fresh meal in your kitchen, and get back to nature in a truly authentic way.
