  • Best vacation we ever had (and we are seniors)

"Everything that we read was even better in person... First, the Adirondacks... Our first visit, the most tranquil, scenic beauty you will ever enjoy. Nature, history, family fun, water sports, good restaurants, whatever you are looking for, it is here. Secondly, the cabin... pristine, better than described, immaculate, wonderful amenities, and oh that view. You are feet from the most beautiful, expansive lake view you can imagine... quiet with very little evidence of civilization around you. Best of all, Carl and Eilieen freely shared their knowledge and love for the area with us. Almost like having a family concierge on the premises. We now understand why so many visitors are loyal and regular returnees to this heavenly camp. Cannot recommend it more highly. Thank you Carl and Eileen for your warm hospitality, we will see you next year... Steve and Michelle"

  • A much needed getaway

"The Hideaway is such a beautiful place to stay. The scenery, the wildlife and the atmosphere were all phenomenal. I have never gone on a vacation where I have felt so recharged and refreshed when I left like I did when I left the Hideaway. My wife, our friends and I that stayed here enjoyed ourselves very much. Dave and Diane have so much at the cabin for you to do that there isn't even a need to leave it. There is a great selection of very good books, board games and outdoor activities that will keep you busy the whole time you're there. The Cabin is very clean and maintained extremely well. An A+ experience overall and I hope to be back again next year."

  • A Home with a view

"The owners of this former Adirondack Great Camp made wonderful efforts to answer all questions ahead of time, created a homelike atmosphere, and had all the necessities for modern "camping!" This lake home is right on Mirror Lake with a perfect view of Mount Marcy and within walking distance to town. During our girls weekend, we ate out, saw a movie, toured the Olympic Stadium, and stood atop the ski jump. The home itself was inviting. We enjoyed breakfasts and dinners in the spacious kitchen and dining room with its lake view. The bedrooms were bright and cheery. I highly recommend renting this reasonably priced home and my group of friends and I are likely to return soon."

  • bsck again

"Our Father's Day fishing group arrived just as the heavens opened, and for two days we had sheets of rain keeping us housebound - but what a house. The fully stocked kitchen featured a new oven. In honor of the new deer head mounted in the great room, our first dinner was venison steaks. On our third day the rivers came down and we were able to leave the backgammon, jigsaw puzzles and poker and head out for some delightful fly fishing. But our favorite activity was gathering on the remarkable screened porch after yet another marvelous meal and recounting our fishing experiences of the day. We're already planning our "threepeat" of a Keene Valley fishing trip centered at Aunt Dora's cabin."
