"This is a wonderful place for a couple. Very well appointed and comfortable. (The open floor plan makes it less suitable for a family.) The home is situated on the quiet east side of Lake George where the view is spectacular and the setting is away from the hubbub of Lake George Village. The nearby beach is lovely and the Par 3 golf course is a bargain and fun for the amateur golfer. We enjoyed area hiking and kayaking. The owners, Bruce and Susan, are very friendly and have decorated the cabin in a very memorable way. We definitely recommend this location for those seeking a quiet getaway."

"My husband and I came to Old Forge for our first time, along with our four children (ages 3-9), for a snowmobile weekend. Barb and Doug met us at the house upon arrival and my first impression of anything is that these folks are two of the kindest, most accommodating and helpful people I've ever met; the kind of people you would love to have in your own family. As for the home - I fell in love immediately. Its so beautiful and so charming, so many lovely details that you only find in a home this age. There is nothing 'modern' about the architecture or style, which is precisely the appeal. You feel like you're back in time, from the beautiful wallpaper to the gorgeous wood trim and details; the glass and brass doorknobs, the hard word flooring and beautiful wood built-ins. People who own homes like this tend to live in them, preserve them, and rarely share their beauty. Barb and Doug open their home to guests lucky enough to find the time to visit. Our children loved the home and were enamored with endless 'hide-n-seek' possibilities; none of us wanted to leave... so the day after we arrived home we booked another weekend! One last comment, and I've read several of the same - the house is SPOTLESS. I mean to say, I walked around in light blue and white socks for 4 days and there was not a hint of dirt on any of my socks - MY SOCKS!!! I don't even know how that's possible! So if you're looking for cleanliness, comfort, charm... a place where you KNOW you want to go back to as soon as you can... THIS is your place! Thank you Doug and Barb, it was a pleasure and we look forward to staying in your beautiful home again!"

"Our week stay at the cottage was really great, and I couldn't have picked a better spot if I tried. We really were in walking distance (even for the out of shape amongst us) to every possible worthwhile place in Lake George. This included Fort William Henry, the lakeside beach (great for bathing during the day and for viewing the fireworks on Thursday nights), Shepard's park (with nightly events), taking a three hour cruise on the Mohican, and all sorts of shopping and dining on the strip. The two bedrooms upstairs, along with the twin bed on the landing, worked well for our party of five, and the downstairs space with sofa, chairs, a dining table and kitchenette, were clean and well equipped. We grilled outside using the available grill, and the outdoor patio was a great spot to relax. We used both bathrooms, and having two parking spaces worked very well. We were able to bring our Scottish terrier with us, and that made the vacation even better. All told, we were very comfortably situated, and I was praised for my astute choice by everyone."

"We stayed for 6 days to unwind and relax by the lake....mission accomplished! This is an upscale property by anyone's standards....everything is well maintained and all linens and towels are supplied....the owner Connie is super responsive and manages this property seriously and professionally. The setting is beautiful....great dock, fire pit, and ample beach to launch your kayak or rowboat.....the house is sufficiently set back from the road to ensure quiet evenings.....we would come back anytime."
