  • Lovely Place

"Spotless, welcoming apartment. Feels like home when you arrive. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Even the coffe was provided for the Kurig coffeemaker. Loved it that was no smell of cleaning chemicals. We will definitely go back there."

  • privacy, breathtaking views, modern old world charm

"My wife, daughter and I stayed last July for a week. It was exactly what needed and more than we expected. We were met by the owner and his wife and they graciously toured us around the house, boathouse and grounds. It was beautiful and clean. The architecture of this turn of the century building is fabulous. Inside we found original quarter sawn oak floors, paneling everywhere and breathtaking views out of every window. The bedrooms were nicely furnished with new sheets and quilts on the beds. My wife absolutely loved the kitchen. Totally renovated with new appliances, counters, cabinets, pots pans etc. everything you need to cook whatever your heart or stomach desired. Right off the kitchen, through the dining room (great view) and out on the east facing porch, That’s where we ate breakfast. Beautiful. The porch on the other side of the house, which is probably 100' long, faces west and what better place to recline outside in the evening. Our most favorite place to enjoy the view is from the small deck perched on the roof. From there you can see the lake in all directions for miles, sunrise or sunset, it cannot be beat!! Every night we went to sleep by the call of loons and the gentle lapping sounds of the waves on the rocks, the cool northern nights, it was so restful. During the day we went tubing, the lake was so quite we could travel in a straight line for a mile without turning to avoid another boat. There aren't many places you can do that! The fishing was great!, the smallmouth bass fishing was something you read about, two to four pound fish were plentiful. My daughter and I also had fun catching pan fish right off the newly rebuilt boathouse dock. Of course, there’s always swimming, there is a swimming area with a deck right by the house. The water is crystal clear and refreshing. Or, you can always sit and just relax, we did that too. If you forgot something or run out of food, Ticonderoga is just twenty minutes away where you can shop, or visit the fort if you are a history buff. We only went out once the entire week we loved it so much. My wife and I have only one regret, we wished we had been able to share such a beautiful place and a wonderful time with our family and friends. We hope to return again. It was fantastic!!!"

  • Great accomodations

"Rented the house for a week in the end of June. Exactly what we needed. Close enough to walk to town and the area is right near a park for my daughter. The owners were a pleasure to deal with. House was immaculate. Everything you need is there. Very positive experience."

"We just got back today from our wonderful vacation at this quaint, charming, rustic, beautiful house on the pond. We have 3 kids ages 14-7. They all said this was the best vacation we ever took. They fished everyday and swam in the pond. The pond is very clean and private. The owners have a canoe, row boat, kayak and pedal boat which we all used and loved. It was nice for all of us to disconnect and be together as a family. The house is immaculate! Diane is wonderful! She made me feel like family and wanted us to have a wonderful time. We really had some nice family time. We watch DVDs and played board games. She has a nice selection of movies, CDs and games. The house is about 40 minutes from Lake George, which is nice, but we really spent our time at the house. The kids didn't want to leave. We were all content just to hang out on the pond. We had a fire almost every night. We use VRBO frequently, because it is nice to be in a house instead of a hotel. By far, this was one of the best, cleanest, friendliest, rentals we have stayed at. We got home today and my security deposit is already refunded! I would recommend doing your food shopping before you get to the house so you don't have to leave. If you fish, stock up on bait! The kids caught a ton of bass and sunnies. You also should bring water shoes and bug spray. There is not too much around that is close by, so if you are looking to get away from it all, this is it! However, if you do want to do something, all the main attractions are 30-45 minutes away. This also would be a very romantic get away too. We only went to Lake George once and also did white water rafting, which was fun. We highly recommend The Barn Restaurant, which is about 20 minutes away in Vermont. This is a fantastic place!! The photos and description are exactly what you get and more! Everything in the home is meant to be used. It was nice not to have to bring linens or towels. She also had laundry detergent and paper towels, trash bags, etc. I would highly recommend this rental! Thank you Diane for a wonderful family vacation that we will remember forever!"
