  • Great Place to Get Away!

"We stayed here and had one of the best weeks of our summer! It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing staying on what I feel is the best side of the lake. The dock and deck is where we spent the majority of the time. It was sunny on the dock early and shady on the deck which worked out perfectly. At night we finished the day on the deck cooking over the large outside wood fireplace. The fishing was great with enough sunnies to entertain the kids and enough bass for the adults. Swimming was easy with the deep-water dock and there were enough boats and swim toys for everyone. Although it rained on our last day, it was a perfect stay overall. We plan on making the trip back next year."

  • Beautiful Lake Front House

"This is a warm, friendly house with a great open floor plan. The upstairs bedroom has awesome bunk beds for the kids and the downstairs bed rooms are clean and comfortable. A highlight is the large central fireplace that we used every night. The house is removed from the main road (route 9) by a long, narrow driveway, giving it a real secluded feel. A small grassy backyard leads to the beach which has nice, deep sand, great for kids (and adults). Lots of beach/water toys, all the buckets, shovels, and assorted sand gear. The water is clear and shallow, mostly sandy/muddy and good for swimming. Other than getting a bit shallow it's a great spot to pull up boats and park at the dock or on the beach. Huge screened in porch and the outdoor shower is awesome. I took most of my showers out there. The kitchen is mostly new and decently appointed, though there is very little in the way of glassware (only 2 actual glasses in whole house - the rest is various kinds of plastic), but everything you need for general family food and drink. The owners are cool people, accessible and responsive, and overall I would highly recommend this place. We would like to come back again."

  • Wonderful Lake Placid Home

"We rented this house for the week of Ironman and could not have been happier! Having previously lived in Lake Placid for 5 years, we knew the exact location we wanted to be when returning for my husband to participate in his 3rd Ironman. The house was exactly as described and wonderfully located on the backside of Mirror Lake. The house had all the amenities needed, had a great back and front yards, the private beach access was perfect for our 3 kids and is just a short 10 min walk to Main Street. No need to drive and try to find a parking spot on Main Street when renting this house. For those who are looking specifically for Ironman rentals this house was PERFECT! The house is located directly on both the bike (miles 55/111) and run course (miles 12.5/25) and only a 10-15 min walk to the Olympic Oval for the finish. The close proximity to the village and course, gave us an awesome advantage as a spectator allowing us to set up right in the front yard. We would definitely rent this house again."

  • bsck again

"Our Father's Day fishing group arrived just as the heavens opened, and for two days we had sheets of rain keeping us housebound - but what a house. The fully stocked kitchen featured a new oven. In honor of the new deer head mounted in the great room, our first dinner was venison steaks. On our third day the rivers came down and we were able to leave the backgammon, jigsaw puzzles and poker and head out for some delightful fly fishing. But our favorite activity was gathering on the remarkable screened porch after yet another marvelous meal and recounting our fishing experiences of the day. We're already planning our "threepeat" of a Keene Valley fishing trip centered at Aunt Dora's cabin."
