"WE had a wonderful time, and the house was so well set up for fun with our two grown children and their mates. We took advantage of the bikes and had some wonderful day trips. The kayaks were great for exploring, and we swam in the clear lake everyday. The gas grill is excellent for BBQ. The area is lovely and quiet. The owner was helpful and very responsive to our needs. The only problem was---the week went by too fast! We loved this part of Vermont and hope to return."

"Thanks Doug & Barb for sharing your beautiful home. We had an awesome week. The location was ideal for our multi-generational group. We hiked, biked, canoed, swam and shopped all the gift shops. We enjoyed a couple of meals out (Stillwater Inn has awesome chowder) and did some eating in too. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own meals. My folks (85 & 89) thoroughly enjoyed your place - especially the daily visits from the deer. We visited the Goodsell Museum and my mom was happy to find some info about the Cohassette Hotel where her mother worked back in 1920. Being avid campers we enjoyed topping most evenings off with a campfire - thanks for having the backyard fire pit. It's a vacation we'll long remember."

"What sets Healing Wood apart from other vacation rentals is the attention to detail of the furnishings, décor and setting. The house retains the charm of a bygone era, from the kitchen's cast iron stove to the porcelain wash basins. (There are fully modern appliances, so don't worry about building a fire to heat up the tea kettle!) The well stocked library will keep inquisitive minds occupied for days, all while reading in the warmth of the late afternoon sun streaming through the French doors. It's like walking back in time to your grandparent's home.
The home is located a short walk from Upper Saranac lake and within easy drive of the villages of Tupper, Saranac and Placid. Recommend the boat tour on Placid to see the grand camps, including Kate Smith's camp. The Wild Center is a gem in nearby Tupper and aviation buffs can arrange flights out of Adirondack Regional (KSLK) to see the high peaks from up on higher! Hiking the Ampersand trail to the summit provided a view that was worth every rock and foot of elevation gain along the way.
A memorable vacation in a special home, we hope to return again to Healing Wood."
