  • Amazing Lakefront Escape!!

"Don't know where to start! The house was absolutely immaculate upon arrival, I'm talking clean like we were the first people who ever discovered this place. It was very nice to have everything you could ever need from fresh linens to every kitchen gadget, brand new grill, wifi, washer/dryer, to kayaks, floats, life vests, etc.... This was a very nice escape from the madness that lake George can become but close enough that if you decide to venture out its convenient. Sixflags, Martha's ice cream, and glen falls are all around the corner, but you'll soon realize as we did that there really is no reason to leave! Many nights were spent lakeside by the fire pit watching the stars and lake. Days consisted of kayaking, fishing, swimming on the sandy bottom lake front, and drinking many a cold adult beverage on the lake front lounges! Ospreys have a large nest next door and they are quite the sight to watch grab more fish than me or any of my group could catch on rod and reel! All in all not a single complaint, met owner and she's a doll, super accommodating! Can't wait to return for this new family tradition!"

  • Wonderful family rental, close to village yet private

"This house was a good fit for two families plus grandparents. The common rooms were large enough to accommodate our party of ten if we all wanted to be together, but there was plenty of room for us to spread out when we wanted time apart! The house was just as shown in the pictures. The covered patio and outdoor fire pit are really great features you won't find at other rentals. The location is fantastic if you want to be within walking distance of the village, but still have quiet and privacy. It was ~ five to seven minute walk to the village and Shephard's Park. We needed a stroller for the younger ones in our party (~ 3 years old). The Shephard's Park beach was great for the kids (age 3 - 7). There was no need to go to Million Dollar Beach. We found the beach rules to be very strict relative to what we are used to, and did not spend a lot of time there. Claire was very helpful before and during our vacation. The house felt like a home, and was nicely decorated. We would recommend this property to others. The Prospect Mountain hike (just behind the house) was very nice, but I would not recommend for small children. We really enjoyed Capri's pizza on the strip. We saw the Thursday night fireworks from Neptune's restaurant - great place for the whole family. If you are looking to get out of the village check out the Painted Pony Rodeo - also great for families."

Lake George Travel Tips

Lake George Lodging in the Adirondacks

Retirement communities in places like Florida, Arizona, and other warm states are often where older individuals flock for vacations. Instead, look into Lake George lodging which is perfect for people of all ages. The Adirondacks are normally filled with mountains and hills; however, some Lake George rentals are on flat land that is easy to hike or ski. Your stay at Adirondack Mountains cabins can be for the entire extended family or a simple gathering of your immediate family.

Lake George Rentals close to Olympic Village

At Lake George rentals, you are an hour from Lake Placid, 40 minutes from Mt. Gore, and on the shores of Lake George. There are four exits to alpine skiing and Nordic skiing tracks near Lake George lodging. For winter, you can light a fire in a rock fireplace, and watch the snow falling outside while you read a book. Spend Christmas at Adirondack Mountains cabins where the presents will stay nestled under the tree as the family sits at the kitchen table playing all their favorite board games.

Kayaking around Adirondack Mountains Cabins

Spring and summer in the Adirondacks are just as spectacular as the winter months. Adirondack Mountains cabins are nestled in a forest of trees offering privacy for your days on the lake beach. Swim, water ski, or fish in Lake George from the convenient docks of your Lake George rentals. Also borrow the cabins' kayaks for a night outing onto the lake to watch the moon rise and glimmer over the water.

The Path to Lake George Lodging

Lake George drains into Lake Champlain and the St. Lawrence River which is one reason the lake system was so important during the early centuries of North America. The Native Americans were the first to use the lakes as a way to transport goods and their tribe around the Adirondacks. The French then settled the area before losing control to the British settlers in the 1700s. Lake George lodging has always been a target for tourists due to its convenience to New York City and Montreal, as well as its beautiful countryside.
