"We just got back today from our wonderful vacation at this quaint, charming, rustic, beautiful house on the pond. We have 3 kids ages 14-7. They all said this was the best vacation we ever took. They fished everyday and swam in the pond. The pond is very clean and private. The owners have a canoe, row boat, kayak and pedal boat which we all used and loved. It was nice for all of us to disconnect and be together as a family. The house is immaculate! Diane is wonderful! She made me feel like family and wanted us to have a wonderful time. We really had some nice family time. We watch DVDs and played board games. She has a nice selection of movies, CDs and games. The house is about 40 minutes from Lake George, which is nice, but we really spent our time at the house. The kids didn't want to leave. We were all content just to hang out on the pond. We had a fire almost every night. We use VRBO frequently, because it is nice to be in a house instead of a hotel. By far, this was one of the best, cleanest, friendliest, rentals we have stayed at. We got home today and my security deposit is already refunded! I would recommend doing your food shopping before you get to the house so you don't have to leave. If you fish, stock up on bait! The kids caught a ton of bass and sunnies. You also should bring water shoes and bug spray. There is not too much around that is close by, so if you are looking to get away from it all, this is it! However, if you do want to do something, all the main attractions are 30-45 minutes away. This also would be a very romantic get away too. We only went to Lake George once and also did white water rafting, which was fun. We highly recommend The Barn Restaurant, which is about 20 minutes away in Vermont. This is a fantastic place!! The photos and description are exactly what you get and more! Everything in the home is meant to be used. It was nice not to have to bring linens or towels. She also had laundry detergent and paper towels, trash bags, etc. I would highly recommend this rental! Thank you Diane for a wonderful family vacation that we will remember forever!"

  • ALL YOU COULD NEED WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE

"Being a single parent safety is always my first concern. With this cottage I have no worries. Just steps off the main street you find yourself in a family friendly area and I felt confident enough to allow my child to have time to himself for an hour or so. Shepards Park Beach is within walking distance as well as Fort William Henry, Million Dollar Beach and Around the World Putt-Putt. It is nice to be able to cook your own meals, sit out on the back porch or just have a cup of coffee while reading the newspaper on the picnic table. Without the added expense of going out for our meals it left me with the extra money to do something special: Kayaking, Extreme Sports, Fishing, or take a ride on a Steamboat. Remember you are just a short drive to Bolton Landing, Albany, Fort Ticonderoga, and Glens Falls. The cottage is clean and comfortable. It is just the right place for someone who doesn't need all the frills of a hotel and just wants a place to call "home" for awhile. This is our second year at the cottage with a planned return visit next year. Terri has been very helpful and willing to help me with any issues that arise. With no doubt I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants some peace and quite and leave to the vehicle "at home"."

  • Nice house

"6 of us enjoyed our stay here very much. We were able to shop and cook easily and enjoyed the firepit very much. It was nice to have linens provided and the owner was very responsive. It is helpful to note that many places in Boltons Landing are closed in winter. We were not able to figure out how to use the indoor fireplace despite the owners' texts. Lastly, be aware that there are 2 bathrooms if you have a larger party. The hot water held up nicely for the 6 of us though. Overall, we would go back!"

  • Fantastic for all ages!

"As a group of 10 with ages ranging from 12 to 80, we had an absolutely wonderful time over Easter. The weather did not cooperate perfectly but it did not matter because it is a gorgeous area regardless of the weather. We loved the house and it was ideal for three generations - with something for everyone. The games and amenities got plenty of use - all of them - pool, ping pong, foozball, home theater. We loved just sitting in the big room and enjoying the view, cozy home decor and conversation as a family. We also enjoyed exploring the lake front, Gore mountain and taking short hikes. Susan (property manager) was fantastic - very responsive, professional and welcoming. The little touches like the easter flowers and fruit basket were much appreciated. The home was clean and well organized and well stocked - I highly recommend."
