"This was our second stay at That Red House in Putnam Station. Despite poor boating weather and rain we still enjoyed the beauty of Lake George because this house has a magnificent view of Black Mountain. We highly recommend this property to anyone who needs a break from the real world!"

  • An amazing place to stay

"I came here with three of my childhood friends. We had an amazing time. The house was perfect! The views were amazing. The water in the lake was crystal clear. The porch was perfect for sitting and enjoying the scenery. We took the canoe out for a spin which was really fun. The house is very cozy and comfortable and there was actually quite a bit to do around the area. Ticonderoga was a super cute little town with a delicious breakfast place (The wagon wheel). There was an apple orchard, Billy Bob's orchard, just a short 10 minute drive away which was a treat for us Florida girls. We also took a trip to a local winery on the Hudson river to sample the local grapes : ) I wish we would have had more time here to explore the local hiking and the Ticonderoga Fort. We drove past the fort and it looked amazing. I can't wait to come back. Rich was very accommodating and easy to work with. The whole experience was very pleasant and I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation spot with lots of outdoors activities."

  • Top vacation spot for the family!

"Wonderful family vacation! Maybe our best ever. Great accessibility to all our needs,...water, sun, dining, shopping. Peaceful and restful location. Sunsets to die for. We will definitely be heading back this year! Property is newly renovated and spotless. The pictures can't begin to capture the beauty of this spot! Would definitely refer to others!"

  • privacy, breathtaking views, modern old world charm

"My wife, daughter and I stayed last July for a week. It was exactly what needed and more than we expected. We were met by the owner and his wife and they graciously toured us around the house, boathouse and grounds. It was beautiful and clean. The architecture of this turn of the century building is fabulous. Inside we found original quarter sawn oak floors, paneling everywhere and breathtaking views out of every window. The bedrooms were nicely furnished with new sheets and quilts on the beds. My wife absolutely loved the kitchen. Totally renovated with new appliances, counters, cabinets, pots pans etc. everything you need to cook whatever your heart or stomach desired. Right off the kitchen, through the dining room (great view) and out on the east facing porch, That’s where we ate breakfast. Beautiful. The porch on the other side of the house, which is probably 100' long, faces west and what better place to recline outside in the evening. Our most favorite place to enjoy the view is from the small deck perched on the roof. From there you can see the lake in all directions for miles, sunrise or sunset, it cannot be beat!! Every night we went to sleep by the call of loons and the gentle lapping sounds of the waves on the rocks, the cool northern nights, it was so restful. During the day we went tubing, the lake was so quite we could travel in a straight line for a mile without turning to avoid another boat. There aren't many places you can do that! The fishing was great!, the smallmouth bass fishing was something you read about, two to four pound fish were plentiful. My daughter and I also had fun catching pan fish right off the newly rebuilt boathouse dock. Of course, there’s always swimming, there is a swimming area with a deck right by the house. The water is crystal clear and refreshing. Or, you can always sit and just relax, we did that too. If you forgot something or run out of food, Ticonderoga is just twenty minutes away where you can shop, or visit the fort if you are a history buff. We only went out once the entire week we loved it so much. My wife and I have only one regret, we wished we had been able to share such a beautiful place and a wonderful time with our family and friends. We hope to return again. It was fantastic!!!"
