  • Great House!!! Great Vacation!

"We recently stayed at the Sagamore House. It was 3 families and we had a great time. The teenagers enjoyed the basement with the ping pong table, movie theater, and foosball table. There were 12 of us but the house never seemed crowded. There was enough room for everyone to do their own thing or come together as a group for family games. The house was very clean. Doug was a pleasure to work with as well as Susan upon arrival. I would definitely recommend staying at the house and would definitely rent it again. The house was very private and quiet."

  • Perfect for our family

"A great gathering location for the whole family (including grandchildren) to spend a week in the summer. The kids ran and played for hours throughout the expansive mowed yard. Boat rentals were available "next door" and the home's dock was a perfect place to relax. The Lake itself is clean, clear and beautiful. Maybe we were lucky, but we also caught some nice fish!"

  • What a view!!

"We just returned from a GREAT week on Lake George. We traveled with three families with kids ranging from 9-15. Without exception, after a few days we all agreed that we must return again next summer. The house was spacious enough for all. We rented a pontoon boat for the week from Chic's Marina- we were tubing and fishing daily. We found a company in town to deliver and pick up kayaks & paddle boards. (Riley's) We had a fire almost every night for s'mores and could hear some music from the village. We found that everyone enjoyed "old time" family fun. Trading in our phones and computers for volleyball, soccer, playing cards around the table. Even the teens in the group were able to accomplish this. We were close enough to the village to allow the teens to walk in on their own. They even found a nearby park to play basketball. The steps leading to the house were a bit steep, but once we unloaded, we were set for the week. The washer/dryer was very convenient to have and made life easier. The "cottage" had all the amenities we needed to prepare meals and store our food and beverages(2 fridges). We chose to cook most nights, as it is difficult to dine with such a large group. We had a great dinner at The Boat House. Every Thursday night the village hosts fireworks & I would say we had the best seats in the house. Although the area offers a variety of activities, we found it difficult to pull ourselves away from the relaxing views and water fun. Maybe next summer we will try parasailing over the lake or even a ride on the Minnie-Ha-Ha that went sailed by many times a day."

  • What a gem!

"A great property -- beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very unique. Nancy is a great hostess and has thought of everything. The welcome bottle of champagne was such a nice touch. Didn't get a chance to use the antique clawfoot tub, woodburning fireplace or outdoor grill but what great amenities! An easy drive to Lake George Village and a nice find all around."

Lake George Travel Tips

Lake George Lodging in the Adirondacks

Retirement communities in places like Florida, Arizona, and other warm states are often where older individuals flock for vacations. Instead, look into Lake George lodging which is perfect for people of all ages. The Adirondacks are normally filled with mountains and hills; however, some Lake George rentals are on flat land that is easy to hike or ski. Your stay at Adirondack Mountains cabins can be for the entire extended family or a simple gathering of your immediate family.

Lake George Rentals close to Olympic Village

At Lake George rentals, you are an hour from Lake Placid, 40 minutes from Mt. Gore, and on the shores of Lake George. There are four exits to alpine skiing and Nordic skiing tracks near Lake George lodging. For winter, you can light a fire in a rock fireplace, and watch the snow falling outside while you read a book. Spend Christmas at Adirondack Mountains cabins where the presents will stay nestled under the tree as the family sits at the kitchen table playing all their favorite board games.

Kayaking around Adirondack Mountains Cabins

Spring and summer in the Adirondacks are just as spectacular as the winter months. Adirondack Mountains cabins are nestled in a forest of trees offering privacy for your days on the lake beach. Swim, water ski, or fish in Lake George from the convenient docks of your Lake George rentals. Also borrow the cabins' kayaks for a night outing onto the lake to watch the moon rise and glimmer over the water.

The Path to Lake George Lodging

Lake George drains into Lake Champlain and the St. Lawrence River which is one reason the lake system was so important during the early centuries of North America. The Native Americans were the first to use the lakes as a way to transport goods and their tribe around the Adirondacks. The French then settled the area before losing control to the British settlers in the 1700s. Lake George lodging has always been a target for tourists due to its convenience to New York City and Montreal, as well as its beautiful countryside.
