"This was a wonderful house for us to stay in. Not only is it located where we could watch my husband 4 times during the Ironman, it made going back and forth for eating and internet tracking of him wonderful. My grandchildren loved being able to go to the beach whenever they felt like it. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Perfect. I plan on renting this house again."Guest: Dee Date of Stay: July 2013 Review Submitted: August 1, 2013View listing
"This house was perfect for our needs: all on one floor (my husband hates stairs); everything in it seems new, including the moulding and doors; comfortable seating; a good sized and well organized kitchen; plenty of hangers; and a deck that just begged us to stay outside and watch the bluejays, squirrels and chipmunks. I even saw the first real-life woodpecker I've ever seen! The backyard is sizeable and good for children to play in. It's about a 20 minute walk to the arena at the end of Main Street, if you're out walking for exercise, 25 if you're not. That's close enough that we didn't need an extra car so that my husband could go off fishing for a few hours without leaving me stranded. The owner was fast to respond to our inquiry as well as very helpful and attentive. There is a handyman on call whom we never needed, but the fact that he was there made us feel that the owner really cared about our experience. Place was impeccably clean and well-tended, and the listing is accurate in all respects. Definitely a place we'll want to return to!"Guest: J Date of Stay: September 2011 Review Submitted: October 4, 2011View listing
"This was my fourth Ironman in lake placid and I wanted my family and friends to all be in one place and not stuck in hotel rooms. This house was perfect. The owners of the house were extremely professional and communication leading up to the vacation was phenomenal. Everything was taken care of from the start and we were left with an amazing time. Trolley service to town is right at the end of the road so it saves on having to drive into town and find parking. You can sit and relax in privacy at this property but also are close to all the major attractions. I would recommend this rental to any type of vacationers from those with family who want attractions nearby or those just seeking some time away. I will definitely be back... Simply Amazing!"Guest: JonandLiz Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 7, 2014View listing
"We have returned each year since our first visit in 2011, with our latest in Oct 2013 to enjoy the Adirondack fall colors. We stayed in the small eco-friendly forest cabin for this trip and while very different than the hilltop cabin (i.e., being situated directly in the forest under the tall pines as opposed to perched on a hilltop), it was equally rejuvenating and a very cozy setting! We were a little concerned before we arrived that this forest cabin site had no electricity, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. That is, with the staff replenishing the large cooler with ice packs daily and the abundant battery powered lights - the common electricity related conveniences were covered. But with all the candles that were provided and the glowing campfire -- the evening lighting ambiance was perfect and all so peaceful! Thanks again to the staff for their responsiveness as they answered all questions before we arrived so we knew what to expect for our stay in the forest cabin. We're looking forward to our 2014 trip as the staff mentioned they were installing a new building near the base parking and check-in area. This apparently is going to be a common meeting point for guests where we can grab a cup of coffee -- or access hot indoor showers, rest rooms and recharging outlets. That is, it seems now, we will be able to hike into the forest to get away from civilization at our own private site (albeit with some pretty nice rustic options already) -- but then be able to take a short hike out to partake of those modern conveniences if we really need them!"Guest: JT Date of Stay: October 2013 Review Submitted: July 5, 2014View listing
