  • Enjoyed our experience So Much...we headed Back!

"Thank you to Tim for helping us to experience The Whiteface Lodge and Lake Placid. The resort went above our expectations in terms of the amount of space we had for our family of 5, cleanliness, friendliness of staff and ambiance. There was so much for us to do at the resort (the pool, game room, resort's private beach, cookies at tea time) and within the area of Lake Placid (hiking, boat tours, Olympic museum, watching the ski jumpers and ice skaters, & horse show). The concierge was very helpful in helping us pick out hikes to go on with our children, or alone as a couple when we utilized the Kids camp. We enjoyed our experience so much in June that we headed back in August! It was so easy to work with Tim and we are so glad that our friend who has stayed at the resort numerous times recommended Tim and the resort."

  • Family friendly, a great experience

"My family and I just can't say enough about Cub Run Cottage. We had a relaxing, fun stay. It was clean, well appointed and attractively decorated. Grace was wonderful to communicate with, and she responded in a timely manner to all queries. They even sent some much appreciated area information a few days before the stay. We were a mixed group with grandparents, parents, a brave aunt and four kids; three 3 years olds and a four year old. There were nine of us total, and there was plenty of room to spread out. There were books, games, tvs and lots of space to hang out together. The cottage was in close proximity to a few restaurants, and there was a scenic train and trolley stop close by (walking distance). We would absolutely stay again. Guests will need to be able to manage steps, as there are some to get into the cottage."

  • Serenity and soothing silence

"Living in Manhattan it takes a while to get used to the serenity and soothing silence of being in the forest. Just so relaxing. We all had the best time up there. Weather was fantastic. Food in town superb. Best was chilling at the house. We will most certainly return in fall/winter. It's amazing how many stars are visible after dark. It seems impossible there are that many stars in the night sky. It takes your breath away. Wild turkeys in the woods not to mention a very big and pudgy bunny on the front lawn, chipmunks, blue jays, a woodpecker, and many robins too. 5-time guest since 2007"

  • Fantastic cabin, location and Host!

"I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and 3 month old baby. We could not fault Highland cottage. We were there during the winter and the cabin was extremely cozy and warm. The cabin was extremely homely and the location was very close to town. The Ski shuttle stop at a nearly hotel to whiteface mountain was less than 5 minutes walk away. Cathy was a great host who ensured our stay was enjoyable and was always within easy reach via phone but she was never intrusive during our stay so it was a very private lodge even though her home was next door. Everything was clean, warm, dry and the kitchen was very well stocked. Thank you for your hospitality Cathy! And the cookies too!"
