"The location is ideal. Lake Placid village is just a few minutes drive away. Yet, you can also easily avoid the village crowds and get to your favorite hiking trails. In fact, you can walk right from the house to a trail that's suitable for hiking, single track mountain biking, or cross country skiing. If you like to run or road bike, you will love the fact that this house is right off River Road, which is an awesome road for either activity, because it has amazing views of Whiteface and the ski jumps. The house itself is very comfortable and clean. Loved the gas stove on the chilly mornings. And the outdoor fire pit is a lot of fun. I also enjoyed bringing my dog on my vacation, so I appreciate that my dog was welcome."

"Let me start by saying the pictures DO NOT do this house justice. It is absolutely beautiful, spacious and accommodating. Recently spent a week there with 13 people ranging in age from 4 to 71 celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary and we all had plenty of room and were very comfortable. The views from the deck are beautiful and the lake was wonderful. We rented kayaks and stand up paddle boards for the week and we were all out on the lake everyday! You have everything you need for meals as well as some nice restaurants in Bolton landing. The owners were very friendly and even left us a welcome basket. We brought our own bedding but all the beds have their own and the rooms are very nicely decorated. We would definitely come back again in fact my two kids 11 & 14 said they could live here forever! As far as the comments made about the stairs, yes there are a lot of stairs and I could see them Being a problem for someone very old or out of shape but like I said my 71 year old Dad was there and he had no problem and my 14 year old daughter carried a paddleboard up the hill with me so how bad can it be. Thanks to the Penna's for a great vacation in their beautiful home."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Camp Wayback. The location is close enough to Main Street to be convenient, but far enough away to feel like you're in the woods. We chose to drive in to town because the curvy, uphill road seemed less than promising to walk back on after dark, but it takes only several minutes to get to town and unless some special event like the Iron Man competition is going on, parking is widely available and very affordable.
Kim was an excellent host and very helpful regarding suggestions on good places to hike, visit, eat, etc. The cabin was perfect for the two of us: roomy and comfortable. Our only complaint would be that the grill was really coated in animal fat that we couldn't scrub off, so being vegan, we gave up on using it, but that's a minor issue. All in all, we would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to rent a cabin in beautiful Lake Placid."
