  • Mirror Lake Getaway

"I rented this house with 8 other girls for weekend getaway. The house was amazing! The photos provided are absolutely accurate- the rooms and views were exactly as they were shown in the listing. The owners made themselves available for any questions we had throughout the weekend and the welcome letter regarding the house provided all the information we needed for the weekend. Although our weekend of choice was in May, the great northeast was still holding on to the chill of winter, so the fireplace was the perfect place to cozy up to on the first night. The kitchen easily fit all of us and was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds were cozy and comfortable and everyone woke up well rested. Unfortunately, the weekend we visited was rainy and prevented us from doing too many outdoor activities- but we were able to make the quick walk into town in between rain showers and just enjoy the charm of the house and the amazing views of the lake! It was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway with friends and family. The house is convenient to everything in town and offers the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy the views. I would highly recommend this property and can't wait to go back!"

  • Perfect Long Weekend Get Away from Brooklyn

"My wife and I took my parents up to Black Brook Lodge for a three-day weekend and we all loved it. The house is comfortable and low key but also features an amazing kitchen with first-rate appliances, cutlery, silverware, etc. It's a perfect combination of luxury and rustic. The house is near to excellent hikes and walks and the only sound you can hear is the nearby Saranac River, but you're also close to Lake Placid and Plattsburgh in case you want to see a film or shop or go out to eat (there's also ping pong, an excellent DVD collection, and a good library for indoor distractions). The property has extensive frontage on the Saranac River, with a number of excellent fishing spots within walking distance from the house. There are more fishing spots within a short drive, and it's 20 minutes to the Ausable River, which is one of the great trout streams in America. There's something for everyone and I can't recommend it highly enough."

  • Wonderful vacation cottage on Willsboro Bay/Lake Champlain

"This was one of the most pleasant vacation cottages I have ever rented. The size is perfect for 2 to 6 people and it is extremely clean and comfortable in every way. The kitchen has everything you need for preparing great meals, the living room is very homey and there is a great view of the lake from almost every room of the cottage. I appreciated having cable TV, internet and good cell phone reception. The bathroom is modern with a wonderful shower and the beds are extremely comfortable. The house is located right on the shore of Willsboro Bay and has an amazing view north into Lake Champlain and a view west so you can see the Metroliner snake through the mountains on its way to Montreal. The dock is great for boating but it's also wonderful for pulling out at chair and reading a good book or just watching the light change over the water. Swimming is excellent here because the bottom is sandy and the water very clear. Also, it's protected because speed boats do not come into the area except to dock. The town of Willsboro is fairly quiet, but very pretty and has a variety of very accessible activities - a lovely 9 hole golf course, well-maintained public tennis courts and nearby hiking. There are two market/gas stations close by with all the necessities and excellent meat counters, so you don't have to go far for groceries. The two close-by marinas have restaurants, so dining out is convenient. Bicycling is perfect along Corlear Drive because it's fairly flat with very little car traffic. The owner was very personable, responsive and very pleasant to work with. What more can I say? I can't wait for next summer!"

  • Boy weekend at Jim's

"My Uncles, cousins, brother and sons get together for one weekend a year to connect with each other. This year we stayed at Jim's Adirondack home in Old Forge. I have nothing but great things to say about this home. It was exceptionally clean and big enough for the 12 of us. The area was great for bike riding, canoeing, fishing or just walking around town. We booked the home again for next years get together."
