"My husband and I came to Old Forge for our first time, along with our four children (ages 3-9), for a snowmobile weekend. Barb and Doug met us at the house upon arrival and my first impression of anything is that these folks are two of the kindest, most accommodating and helpful people I've ever met; the kind of people you would love to have in your own family. As for the home - I fell in love immediately. Its so beautiful and so charming, so many lovely details that you only find in a home this age. There is nothing 'modern' about the architecture or style, which is precisely the appeal. You feel like you're back in time, from the beautiful wallpaper to the gorgeous wood trim and details; the glass and brass doorknobs, the hard word flooring and beautiful wood built-ins. People who own homes like this tend to live in them, preserve them, and rarely share their beauty. Barb and Doug open their home to guests lucky enough to find the time to visit. Our children loved the home and were enamored with endless 'hide-n-seek' possibilities; none of us wanted to leave... so the day after we arrived home we booked another weekend! One last comment, and I've read several of the same - the house is SPOTLESS. I mean to say, I walked around in light blue and white socks for 4 days and there was not a hint of dirt on any of my socks - MY SOCKS!!! I don't even know how that's possible! So if you're looking for cleanliness, comfort, charm... a place where you KNOW you want to go back to as soon as you can... THIS is your place! Thank you Doug and Barb, it was a pleasure and we look forward to staying in your beautiful home again!"

"My family and I traveled 18 hours to vacation in upstate NY so we reviewed several rentals. I'm so glad we selected this camp and we had a wonderful experience. First, the camp is very clean and well maintained with all of the necessities. The owner was very responsive in ensuring we were accommodated.
Next, the camp is very charming and inviting. In particular, there is a fabulous, enclosed porch that overlooks the lake. The porch has a dining area and sitting room that is very cozy. It has an eclectic, Adirondack charm and I could have stayed there all day. It gets better…there is also an outdoor porch that also overlooks the lake. Also, there were potted plants, Adirondack benches, a hammock, and other finishing touches around the home to make it special.
The morning we departed, we decided to feed the ducks with some bread that the owners provided. I wasn't sure if there would be any ducks given that it was 6:00 a.m. However, we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by 6 ducks as well as a beautiful loon!
The owners obviously put a lot of effort and care into their camp to make it such a great place. We highly recommend this camp and would rent it again."

"The Huttlinger House has a super location. It is only a block from Mirror Lake and the main street with shops, restaurants, and boat rentals. The house comfortably sleeps 13 people, it is roomy enough that everyone can find a quiet place if they would like. There is a sunroom that has a view of Mirror Lake. It is a bit old fashioned but we liked it. The owners were quick to take care of a small problem. We would stay there again if we are in the area. Owners and manager are friendly and helpful."
